A one to five minute mini-act at the end of a show, after the dramatic climax of the episode but before (or even during) the end credits, used to show the effects or aftermath of the episode. It might be humorous (think Friends), or move a little bit of Story Arc plot along in a self-contained episode (think Farscape).
A more traditional way to refer to this concept is the literary term denouement. The Japanese equivalent of The Tag is the Omake.
