JOKAKAKA is a JoJo's Bizarre Adventure review podcast hosted by Jim and Sam. It focuses on reviewing new manga chapters as they are released. While it initially focused on JoJolion, it has since expanded to reviewing both other JoJo media and other anime and manga, such as Attack on Titan.

It began focusing primarily on The JOJOLands after the part began being released in February 2023.

It can be found here on YouTube and here on Spotify.

Tropes:

  • Artifact Title: The title comes from when the podcast focused on JoJolion, but the part has been completed and the podcast continues to review other works. Additionally, the title comes from the initial translation of the rock fruit from JoJolion as Rokakaka, when the accurate translation was later shown to be Locacaca.
  • Audience-Alienating Ending:invoked The hosts both dislike the ending to JoJolion and feel as if it goes against everything the rest of the part set up, failing to answer many mysteries and questions while wasting interesting characters.
  • Author Appeal: The podcast focuses on reviewing works the creators are interested, such as JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Attack on Titan, and Chainsaw Man.
  • Bestiality Is Depraved: In a BROKAKAKA episode with Purmello and Aeonstar, the hosts discuss a bizarre fan theory in which Diego had sex with his horse and Jodio is their descendant.
  • Caps Lock: The podcast's title is written in all caps.
  • Cats Are Mean: Their review of Chapter 7 of The JOJOLands is titled "Cats Are Mean", reflecting the villainous cats in the chapter.
  • Evil Counterpart: They joke that the girl who bullies Dragona is an evil version of Yasuho, referring to her as "Evil Yasuho".
  • Fan Community Nicknames:invoked Parodied one episode, when they jokingly refer to their patrons as Jokaks (pronounced Jo cocks).
  • Kappa: Sam's avatar in art and videos portrays him as a kappa.
  • Musical Episode: Parodied in the episode on Chapter 5 of The JOJOLands. Jim and Sam are randomly singing at the start of the episode, jokingly saying that this episode would be a musical episode.
  • Musical Pastiche: The opening theme is in a similar style to "Crazy Noisy Bizarre Town" from Diamond is Unbreakable.
  • Portmantitle:
    • Its title, JOKAKAKA, combines JoJo with Rokakaka/Locacaca, a plant that plays a major role in JoJolion.
    • Its Attack on Titan review series is called "Jo-ttack on Titan".
    • Its episodes featuring special guests are called BROKAKAKA.
  • Running Gag: Sam often says that it's "that time of the month" when a new chapter of The JOJOLands is released.
  • Special Guest: Some episodes feature special guests, usually other JoJo YouTubers such as Aeonstar. These episodes are titled BROKAKAKA.
  • Shout-Out: They often bring up Breaking Bad in their discussions of The JOJOLands due to the similarities between the two and the many Breaking Bad references in the manga.
  • Title Theme Tune: The podcast eventually added an opening theme in which the only lyrics are the title.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Characterinvoked: Jobin is one of the hosts' favorite characters in JoJolion, with fascinating motivations, a cool personality, and a creative stand. They believed that he was set up to be the main villain, but they reacted with disappointment and annoyance when he was unceremoniously killed off. They much preferred his character to Tooru, the actual main villain.
  • 13 Is Unlucky: They point out that Chapter 13 of The JOJOLands is unlucky, due to the horrific things that happen in it.
