Go To

Basic Trope: A werewolf (or other were-creature) who is friendly or heroic in some way.

  • Straight: Romulus is a werewolf, but is very friendly.
  • Exaggerated:
    • Romulus has gained full control over his wolf form and remains a friendly individual even then.
    • All of the were-creatures in the work are shown to be very kind.
  • Downplayed: Romulus is more of a Jerk with a Heart of Gold.
  • Justified:
    • Romulus retains self-control and human thinking even as a werewolf.
    • Romulus was a nice person even before turning into a werewolf, and didn't want to fall victim to Transhuman Treachery.
    • Wolves aren't inherently aggressive to people, so why would werewolves?
  • Inverted: Romulus is evil.
  • Subverted:
    • Romulus is believed to be a werewolf, but this is not the case.
    • Romulus is actually Faux Affably Evil.
  • Double Subverted:
    • Romulus becomes a werewolf later on.
    • Romulus redeems himself.
  • Parodied: ???
  • Zig-Zagged:
    • Romulus is often a fairly nice individual, but does have the occasional tendency to succumb to his urges as a werewolf.
    • Werewolves are as capable as good or bad as any other person in the narrative.
  • Averted:
    • None of the werewolves are particularly friendly.
    • There aren't any werewolves.
  • Enforced:
  • Lampshaded: ???
  • Invoked: Romulus becomes a werewolf, but his friends encourage him to keep being a good person regardless, and he does.
  • Exploited: Romulus is able to control his abilities to shapeshift into wolf form, and often uses them whenever he needs to - for instance, if he needs to run quickly without tiring or to have more strength.
  • Defied: Romulus was once a Nice Guy, but after being infected by lycanthropy he chooses to abandon his once friendly ways and begins a life of Transhuman Treachery.
  • Discussed: "I thought werewolves were evil." "Some of them are, but not me."
  • Conversed: "It's interesting that they made the werewolf a good guy in this show."
  • Implied: Whether or not Romulus is actually a werewolf is unknown, but he is a nice person regardless.
  • Played for Laughs: Romulus acts like a domestic dog in wolf form, often shown doing actions like chasing squirrels, playing fetch, and wanting to be pet.
  • Played for Drama: Romulus is a good person normally, but finds himself facing struggles after becoming a werewolf - not only are his transformations very painful, but he loses control in wolf form and is unable to remember what he did when he wakes up the next morning.
