• Straight: Squishy Wizard Leon starts out as an Aloof Ally with a hint of Deadpan Snarker, but he still clearly respects his Nakama. However, over time he degrades into an Insufferable Genius Jerkass who openly takes delight in the misery of others.
• Exaggerated: Leon starts out as a Shrinking Violet with a touch of cynicism, a sorcerer wearing Jade-Colored Glasses. By the end of the series, he has devolved into a snarky asshole who wouldn't give a damn if his companions were horribly slaughtered and the whole world went to hell.
• Justified: Leon is the team's Butt Monkey and a Cosmic Plaything.
• Inverted: Took a Level in Kindness.
• Subverted: Leon suddenly acts like a total Jerkass, but in reality it's a defense mechanism because he's stressed out.

• Parodied: Everyone refers to Leon being unusually nice while he's beating orphan beggars in the street for daring to ask for some food. They keep on acting like he's being nice even when he sets Ben on fire for no reason.
