  • Straight: A dinosaur in a movie is played by a real modern lizard.
  • Exaggerated: A Tyrannosaurus rex is played by a tegu with false horns and a sail on its back.
  • Downplayed: A Megalania is portrayed by a monitor lizard. It actually was one so it fits.
  • Justified: The lizard actually looks like the prehistoric creature it is playing, or it's a fictional creature that does not have to look like anything that really existed.
  • Inverted: A fictional looking creature is actually supposed to be a real one.
  • Subverted: The creature looks like a big lizard, but it's actually made with Stop Motion or CGI.
  • Averted: The creature is played by another technique, or the lizard is just playing a regular lizard.
  • Enforced:
  • Deconstructed: The lizards playing the film were forced to legitimately fight each other for the movie and endure abuse. In response the movie bombed in the box office and the staff working on the movie are now in serious legal trouble for animal cruelty by the authorities and animal rights activists.
