Basic Trope: A character is not afraid of any infernal realm.
- Straight: After a lifetime of scams, shooting people and stealing parking spaces, Victor is sent to Hell. Undaunted, he starts a for-hire torture business.
- Exaggerated: Victor is so evil the Devil doesn't like being in his presence and he still finds Hell agreeable, at times even pleasant.
- Downplayed: Despite knowing there's an afterlife, Victor is still indifferent to where he ends up after death.
- Justified: Victor has no inner life to speak of, meaning one afterlife to him is as good as the other.
- Inverted:
- Victor is terrified of Hell, and will do anything to get out of going there when the time comes.
- Victor doesn't want to go to heaven for whatever reason, and commits as many vile deeds as he can to avoid it.
- Subverted: Seeing Hell in all its terrifying majesty is enough to make Victor regret his life of sin.
- Double Subverted: As the lower levels of hell (for which he doesn't qualify) are so much more to his liking.
- Parodied: Victor's punishment in Hell is to relive his worst sins over and over. He turns to the Devil and says, "that's it?"
- Zig Zagged: At first Victor is adamant about his fearlessness toward Hell, but a series of encounters with the divine eventually change his beliefs.
- Averted:
- Victor doesn't believe in God, the Devil, or Hell, so asking him if he fears Hell is like asking him if he fears ice cream.
- Victor and/or his religion don't have a concept of Hell. (Maybe they have a concept of The Underworld, or Cessation of Existence, or Heaven for everyone regardless of how they lived or what religion they were.)
- Enforced: Victor has thrown away every possible chance at repentance and doesn't merit any more. God's total devotion to free will means all He can do is wish Victor the best of luck being damned.
- Lampshaded: When demons appear to escort him to Hell, Victor hardly bats an eye.
- Invoked: Listing out all the reasons he hates God, Victor vows to never share the same room with that guy if he can avoid it.
- Exploited: Hoping to avoid punishment on Earth for his crimes, Victor checks out by popping himself off after a killing spree.
- Defied: Victor is dragged into Hell kicking and screaming.
- Discussed: Victor gives a number of reasons why he's cool with going to Hell, chief among them access to hot demon chicks.
- Conversed: "Hell is such a nasty word. I like to think of it as a rest home for colossal pricks—like me."
- Implied: Victor laughs at moralizing sermons.
- Deconstructed: Victor's life sucks so much that Hell wouldn't be any appreciably different, hence his indifference: same shit, different plane of existence.
- Reconstructed: Since Victor believes he's been damned to Hell no matter what he does, this belief allows him to do pretty much whatever he wants. He's going to Hell anyway; might as well make it count.
