- The active worship of evil leads to Chronic Backstabbing Disorder among the ranks. They're so busy plotting among one another that their plots are ruined by one another more often than any holy enemy, and disaffected members sell the group out to the heroes in exchange for protection.
- The Church of Baphomet offend the old gods with their utterly mangled lore and offerings invoking them. The results are messy. History has been rather mangled, especially with most surviving writings being of their opponents.
- Reconstructed: The demon the Church of Baphomet worships personally intervenes, subtly or directly, to keep the Church stable; Chronic Backstabbing Disorder keeps a certain churn among the lower ranks and prevents weak leaders from lingering too long in leadership roles, but Baphomet cares not as long as his direct orders are always obeyed.
