Basic Trope: What a character cries out when they notice a seemingly innocent character has a weapon.
- Straight: Little Alice and little Bobby, the two Kid Heroes, are running away from a team of Mooks. When Bobby pulls out a sword the Head Mook says "He's got a sword!"
- Exaggerated: Everyone in the whole town says "He's got a sword!"
- Downplayed: The mook says "He has a sword?" but isn't shouting.
- Justified: Little Bobby has a gun, meanwhile the mooks only have daggers.
- Inverted: Little Bobby discovers the mooks don't have weapons and shouts in delight "They don't have weapons!"
- Subverted: "He's got a" "shh!"
- Double Subverted: "Sword!"
- Parodied: When a mook says "He's got a sword!", a second mook replies "You idiot! We've all got swords!"
- Averted: Nobody says this, or nobody has a weapon.
- Zig Zagged: The mook keeps trying to say "He's got a sword!" but keeps getting interrupted. Finally after the chase, he says "He had a sword!".
- Enforced: A Powder Keg Crowd is set off when a random guy points at another random (unarmed) guy and screams "HE'S GOT A WEAPON!" Cue the unarmed schlub getting brutalized, his friends jumping into defend him, and the crowd turning on itself in an orgy of violence.
- Lampshaded: "We know he's got a sword, stop stating the obvious!"
- Invoked: Bobby brings a sword along with him just to see if the mooks will point it out.
- Exploited: Alice and Bobby escape while the mooks are still pointing out Bobby's sword.
- Defied: The mooks practice being The Stoic, so they don't cry out.
- Discussed: "And then I pulled out a sword and the bad guy was like 'he's got a sword' and we escaped. Why did he say 'he's got a sword'? It was pretty obvious."
- Conversed: "Why do the characters point out that another character has a weapon?"
