Basic Trope: Something gross appears to be happening, but this is not actually the case.

  • Straight: Seymour appears to be peeing in public, but it turns out he's pouring out a bottle of water.
  • Exaggerated:
    • Seymour pretends that various disgusting bodily excretions are scattered around, even though they're really perfectly innocent things such as water, ketchup, and chocolate.
    • Innocent Innuendo
  • Downplayed:
    • Seymour pours out his water bottle in a way that unfortunately resembles peeing, but the situation gets cleared up rather quickly.
    • Seymour looks like he's ordering a Stock "Yuck!" at a restaurant. It turns out to just be a mishearing, though.
  • Justified:
    • Seymour wants to mess with people for whatever reason.
    • Seymour is shooting a scene for a late night Gross-Out Show. It'll be shown past bedtime for kids, but he has to make sure that any kids stumbling into the shooting location (no matter how unlikely that is) isn't too corrupted by it.
  • Inverted: Seymour is actually peeing in public, but he acts like he's just emptying a water bottle.
  • Subverted: Alice goes up to Seymour and asks him what he's doing, and he says he's just emptying out his water bottle - but he really is urinating.
  • Double Subverted: But he's actually emptying out a bottle of apple juice.
  • Parodied: The "gross" thing Seymour seems to be doing is eating broccoli, but this is treated as a Moral Event Horizon crossover.
  • Zig-Zagged: Seymour empties out a bunch of liquids for some reason, and whether or not he's actually urinating is left unclear.
  • Averted: Seymour is just emptying out a water bottle with no debauchery of any sort even suggested.
  • Enforced: The creators want to add some Toilet Humor and Vulgar Humor.
  • Lampshaded: "Jeez, Seymour, I thought you were taking a piss."
  • Invoked: Seymour is trying to upset people, so he stands with his back turned and pours out a container of yellow liquid just to be gross.
  • Exploited: Seymour is trying to cause a distraction, so he pretends to do something gross.
  • Defied: Seymour realizes that the way he's pouring out his water bottle can easily look like he's doing something gross, so he stops and decides to empty it normally.
  • Discussed: "I thought he was peeing in public, but I guess not."
  • Conversed: "Why do shows often pretend something gross is going on when it's actually something normal?"
  • Played for Drama: Bob, Seymour's enemy records him seemingly peeing in public and uploads it to YouTube, when he's just emptying a bottle of water. It causes massive outcry and Seymour ends up getting fined a lot of money, causing him to go broke.
