Basic Trope: A character feels like they "deserve" sex or a relationship from another character for some reason.

    Type A - Who they are 
Reason: The character belongs to the same group, race, nationality, etc. as their Love Interest/Lust Object
  • Straight: Bob thinks Alice should sleep with him because they're part of the same clan.
  • Exaggerated: Bob thinks Alice should sleep with him because they live in the same city.
  • Downplayed: Bob insists that Alice should marry someone with their clan to increase his chances of her choosing him.
  • Justified: Bob's clan usually marries within itself.
  • Inverted: Bob wants to get with Alice, but feels he doesn't have the right to date her because their clan usually dates and marries outsiders.
  • Subverted: Bob tells Alice "I don't think you should sleep with me just because we're part of the same clan."
  • Double Subverted: "You should sleep with me because we're in the same (social) class."
  • Parodied: Bob thinks Alice should sleep with him because they breathe the same oxygen.
  • Zig Zagged: Bob thinks Alice should sleep with him because they're of the same clan, but that only applies to women who are at least at third cousin status to avoid incest, unless Bob can get a special dispensation from the elders.
  • Averted:
    • Bob thinks Alice should sleep with him because… they've hit it off and they have great chemistry, and they enjoy each other's company.

    Type B - What they do 
Reason: The character gives some kind of special treatment to the other, which usually involves being "nice" to them.
  • Straight: Bob thinks Alice should sleep with him because they're Childhood Friends.
  • Exaggerated: Bob thinks Alice should sleep with him because he once paid her a compliment.
  • Downplayed: Bob helps Alice out a lot and thinks that she should repay his niceness in some way, possibly but not necessarily sex.
  • Justified: Bob, after hearing Alice's stories about her Jerkass boyfriend, feels he'd be better for her.
  • Inverted:
    • Bob doesn't want to sleep with Alice because he thinks he and Alice are Better as Friends.
    • Bob always pinned over Alice, a married woman, being okay with her rejecting him until he finds out she does have affairs just not with him. Or, in extreme cases, everyone but him.
  • Subverted:
    Bob: I used to wonder what if we were more then just friends, but now I think we're better this way.
  • Double Subverted:
  • Parodied: Bob thinks Alice should sleep with him because he once made eye contact with her in a reassuring way.
  • Zig Zagged: ???
  • Averted:
    • Bob thinks Alice should sleep with him because… they've hit it off and they have great chemistry, and they enjoy each other's company.
    • Bob doesn't think Alice should sleep with him.

    Type C - What they don't do 
Reason: The character abstains from doing certain things, therefor they consider themself superior than any other suitors.
  • Straight: Bob thinks Alice should sleep with him because he's not promiscuous and is therefore "better" than others.
  • Exaggerated:
    • Bob thinks Alice should sleep with him because he doesn't normally rape women.
    • Bob thinks Alice should sleep with him because he never committed a genocide.
  • Downplayed: Bob repeatedly tells Alice of the benefits of a monogamous partner, hoping that Alice would realize he is talking about himself.
  • Justified:
  • Inverted: Bob (doesn't) want(s) to sleep with Alice because he thinks he is...
    a) ...so bad, he should be punished by having sex with Alice.
    b) ...too good for Alice.
    c) ...so bad Alice should reward him with sex.
    d) ...so promiscous he might as well have sex with Alice.
    e) ...not done any good deeds and therefore is worthy of sex.
    f) ...not done any good deeds and therefore not worthy of sex or Alice.
    g) ...so promiscous, Alice shouldn't sleep with him (either because he thinks he's not worthy or afraid she might catch a STD).
  • Subverted: "You can't just think that someone will sleep with you just because you can't get laid."

  • Double Subverted: "You should sleep with me because I don't kill kittens."
  • Parodied: Bob thinks Alice should sleep with him because he refrains from kicking puppies if they're less than a day old.

    Type D - Extreme circumstances 
Reason: A pernicious event (often catastrophic or extremely dramatic) is threatening at least one of the characters, so the other uses it as an excuse to engage into intercourse.
  • Straight: Bob thinks Alice should sleep with him because they don't have long left to live.
  • Exaggerated: Bob thinks Alice should sleep with him because there's a tiny chance a meteor might hit within the next decade.
  • Downplayed: Bob tells Alice that his or her parents might come up with strict rules against them being in relations, so they might as well get into one before then.
  • Justified:
  • Inverted: Bob doesn't want to sleep with Alice because he's proud to die a virgin.
  • Subverted: Bob realizes that them dying gives her absolutely no reason to have sex with him and/or that dead is dead and he won't care whether or not they have sex because they will be dead.
  • Double Subverted: ...and then, he tries to have sex with her.
  • Parodied: Bob thinks Alice should sleep with him because there's a small chance the world might end... someday. Perhaps.
