Basic Trope: Bishōnen, or otherwise attractive/angelic looking demons.

  • Straight: Lucifer has flowing golden locks, bright angel wings and quite the looker.
  • Exaggerated: Every demon is a bishonen.
  • Downplayed:
    • Calling Satan attractive would be a stretch, but he's certainly easier on the eyes than the rest.
    • It's easy to tell Satan from a real angel, the jet-black raven wings and massive horns are a dead giveaway, but he's still as beautiful as his unfallen kin.
  • Justified:
    • Lucifer is a fallen angel, what reason does he have to be monstrous looking?
    • The demon Belial appears as a beautiful angel, as he does in the Ars Goetia.
  • Inverted:
    • Lucifer is horrifying to look at, while the rest of the demons are bishonens.
    • Angelic Abomination.
  • Subverted: Lucifer looked attractive, but he goes through a One-Winged Angel transformation during a Villainous Breakdown.
  • Double Subverted: ...Said One-Winged Angel form was actually a Bishōnen Line, making Lucifer even bishier.
  • Parodied: The Heroes constantly get Distracted by the Sexy when they're around Lucifer.
  • Zig Zagged: Some demons are ugly, others are beautiful, and there is no pattern.
  • Averted: Demons look like monsters.
  • Enforced: The creator believes dark isn't always evil and that evil can come in different forms.
  • Lampshaded: "Woah. The devil is hot."
  • Invoked:
    • Lucifer uses glamour to make himself more attractive.
    • or to hide the fact that This Isn't Heaven.
  • Exploited: Lucifer uses this appearance to make his affairs easier for him.
  • Defied: Lucifer decides to take on a more vicious appearance, in spite of his pride.
  • Discussed: ???
  • Conversed: ???
  • Implied: The hero is shown a large mural about a war between angels and demons. He can hardly tell the difference between them just by looking.
  • Played For Laughs: Lucifer has the halo, harp, and robes, but is also a Dastardly Whiplash with an Evil Laugh. He makes no attempt to hide this from the heroes.
  • Deconstructed: The heroes mistake Lucifer for a real angel, leaving them vulnerable to attack or manipulation.
  • Reconstructed: Which was the point of looking like an angel to begin with.
