Basic Trope: Someone is attracted to people who are overweight or obese.

  • Straight: Bob is more attracted to Alice, a BBW, than Charlotte, a slim woman.
  • Exaggerated:
  • Downplayed: Bob prefers Alice with a few extra pounds, but no more than twice his size.
  • Justified:
    • Bob likes BBWs generally, but he is also attracted to Alice's personality too.
    • Bob had went through an event that lead to him developing a fetish for fat people, like a crush becoming obese or accidentally finding a fat Porn Stash at too young of an age.
    • Bob was raised in a culture where BBWs are considered more attractive.
  • Inverted: Bob only finds Hollywood Thin women attractive.
  • Subverted: Bob finds his new girlfriend Alice attractive because she's actually pregnant, not fat.
  • Double Subverted: Bob finds Alice's pregnancy attractive because she's getting fat as a result, and he encourages her to keep gaining weight after she gives birth.
  • Parodied:
  • Zig Zagged: Bob's sexual desires change on a constant basis.
  • Averted:
    • Bob does not have any Love Interests in-story.
    • There are no fat women in the story.
    • Bob doesn't care either way.
    • Bob prefers women that are somewhere in the middle—not too fat but not too skinny, either.
  • Enforced:
    • There are no skinny women in the series, or skinny women are portrayed as unappealing.
    • The author wants to explore the idea that beauty is in the eye of the beholder or certain fetishes in the work.
  • Lampshaded:
    • Alice, a slim woman, wants to ask Bob out. But her friend Charlotte points out that ''Every woman Bob ever dated got fat within the month".
    • Alice, who used to be a thin woman, has gotten quite fat recently, ever since she started dating Bob. When she asks Bob if he's disappointed by that, he is surprised because he thought she knew it was what he wanted. He points out that he's been the one suggesting that she eat more and quit exercising.
  • Invoked:
    • Bob puts an ad in the personals which specifies that he only wants to date a Big Beautiful Woman or thin women who are happy to fatten up.
    • Bob uses a dating website specifically designed for finding a Big Beautiful Woman.
    • Bob searches for pornography, or a strip-club, dedicated to Big Beautiful Woman.
  • Exploited:
    • Alice, a larger woman, seduces Bob as part of a Honey Trap.
    • Alice uses her fat to lure in chubby chasers. After having sex, she eats her mate so that she can gain even more weight, attracting more men to consume.
    • Kyle uses Alice as a lure to summon Bob.
    • Alice, a thin woman, dates Bob, a Chubby Chaser, so that she has a boyfriend who will not mind her getting fat, because she wants to give up diets and exercise.
  • Defied:
    • Bob thinks an obese woman is unhealthy and unattractive, and only dates unhealthily skinny women.
    • Bob is embarrassed by his preference. So he tries to get more into skinny women.
  • Discussed:
    • Alice, a thin woman, is dating Bob, a Chubby Chaser, and notices that he stares at much fatter women. She asks if Bob finds her attractive and he admits that he doesn't, because he is dating her for her personality. They agree that they would both be happier if she got fat, so she decides to become a Big Beautiful Woman.
    • Alice started dating Bob five years ago and hasn't seen her old friend Charlotte in six years. When they meet up again, Charlotte is shocked to see that her thin friend Alice is now a morbidly obese Big Beautiful Woman. Alice tells Charlotte about dating Bob and that he is a Chubby Chaser. They talk about how much happier Alice is after fattening up and that Charlotte should try to find a Chubby Chaser to date, too.
  • Conversed: Two characters talk about how annoying it is that their neighbourhood seems to have absolutely no full-figured women.
  • Deconstructed:
    • Bob is attracted to Alice, but doesn't want to be seen with her in public.
    • Bob views Alice as more of a fetish than a person, and he regards her with disdain if she changes her body in a way that doesn't cater to his approval.
    • Alice has to lose some weight for health reasons (bad back, stomach issues, etc.), and Bob stops being attracted.
    • Alice considers Bob to be kinda creepy, and tries to lose weight so that he will leave her alone.
  • Reconstructed:
    • Bob might not want to be seen with Alice, but Charlotte is happy to date her in public.
    • Alternately, Alice falls for Bob for other reasons, and also realizes that he is attracted to more than just her figure.
  • Played For Laughs:
    • There are constant corny sight gags about Bob trying to pick up Alice and failing, and buying her enormous slices of cake and so on...
    • Alice accidentally sits on Bob. When Bob is peeled off, he is a blushing mess and intentionally gets below her again.
    • Bob covers himself in frosting and ice cream in an attempt to gain the love of a big woman.
  • Played For Drama:
    • Alice has always felt bad about her size, and has tried every diet and trick out there. Bob finds her attractive, and helps her become more confident in herself.
  • Played For Horror:
    • Bob is a serial rapist and his preferred targets are fat women.
    • Bob is lured in by a skin walker disguised as a fat woman.
    • Bob force feeds crap to women in his basement, completely disregarding them as humans and only trying to make them obese to fulfill his fetishes.
    • Alice and Bob loved each other. Bob devotes his life to Alice, loving every ounce of her. Alice eventually dies from a heart attack and Bob feels the blame due to him feeding Alice constantly to make her gain weight. Out of grief and remorse, Bob kills himself.
  • Implied:
    • Bob is only seen around fat women.
    • Alice has a crush on Bob and gains a massive amount of weight while she is trying to hit on him.

Back to Chubby Chaser. And no, I don't judge based on weight, though I do like 'em plumpy.
