- Straight: The Valkyries' Squad is a highly trained team of women (and no men).
- Exaggerated:
- The Valkyries' Squad makes a point of notifying the masses that they are exclusively women-only.
- Every military brigade in the world is composed of female soldiers. Including the sentient robots.
- Downplayed: The majority of the Valkyries' Squad's membership is female. There are a few men.
- Justified:
- The squad organizer has recognized (or consider that) that mixing men with women would run the risk of having unwanted romances get in the way, and there were more women available than men.
- There is circumstances, such as The Virus, which only affects men, and thus it is safer to organize a squad of women to fight the Big Bad or said circumstances.
- Special Victims Unit dealing with Sex Slaves or other group that has reason to be distrustful of men.
- A female leader needs bodyguards who can go where men aren't allowed, to prevent assassins Camping a Crapper.
- The squad is, for one reason or another, forbidden from having male soldiers.
- Alternatively, the squad is not forbidden to have any men on board, but all the members just happen to be women.
- They're from a society of literal Amazons, where men are prohibited from fighting (or existing).
- The squad organiser wants a publicity stunt.
- Inverted:
- The squad is composed entirely of men.
- The Valkyries' Squad's rivals, the Troll Squad, is composed of all men, and this is unusual.
- Subverted:
- The Valkyries' Squad announces its newest member... A man.
- One of the members is not a woman, but a dude who looks like one.
- Double Subverted:
- That new member is actually another woman; she just looked like a man from a distance.
- The feminine-looking male of the group turns into a woman.
- Alternatively, The Valkyries' Squad, which were though by many to be Cast Full of Pretty Boys, turns out actually to be an all-Bifauxnen squad.
- The male member of the squad doesn't last long, either dying or getting kicked out in short order. They never hire a man again.
- The male is a transwoman who hasn't transitioned yet.
- Parodied: Any men attempting to get a piece of the action are shot on sight.
- Zig Zagged:
- The Valkyries' Squad's lineup is constantly changing, and it's sometimes all-female and sometimes fairly evenly mixed.
- The squad is so secretive that even its members' genders are unknown. There are rumors that all of them are women, but others claim to have known males who were members, and nobody can be sure of the truth anymore.

- The squads are all mixtures of men and women.
- There are no squads.
- Enforced: "This show is marketed towards women, so let's have a fighting squad fully of women."

- Defied: The squad make sure to recruit exactly 50% men and 50% women.
- Discussed: "They're called the Valkyries' Squad? Does that mean they're all women?" "Do you know your Norse Mythology or not?"
- Conversed: "There sure are lots of women in the Valkyries' Squad." "Of course! Why else would we be watching this?"
- Deconstructed: Valkyries' Squad is deployed to a region with incredibly misogynistic insurgents. Since they do not fall in a traditional gender role, they are targeted more often than other squads, and suffer heavier casualties.
- Reconstructed: Valkyries' Squad is an elite branch of the military assigned to higher risk missions. Thus, the higher causality rate. The squad was deployed in a misogynistic area on the reasoning they would be underestimated.
- Implied: All the Valkyries wear Powered Armor that makes figuring out their respective sexes a little difficult, but at least one of them has been the subject of Samus Is a Girl and the name certainly seems to imply a pattern...
- Played For Drama: Valkyries' Squad is deployed domestically. Upon experiencing discrimination in their own country, they become disillusioned and go rogue.
- Plot Foundation: Bob is assigned to the Valkyries' Squad, which forms the basis for A Very Special Episode via a Perspective Flip.
