Basic Trope: In a show, abuse is portrayed as something only men do.
- Straight: On Tropetown, there are three abuse victims- Alice, Bella and Carrie. Alice is abused by her father, Donald, Bella is abused by her boyfriend Elliot, and Carrie is abused by her husband Fred. No woman is ever mentioned to be an abuser.
- Exaggerated: Alice, Bella and Carrie are casually torturing and murdering their husbands and kids in plain sight of everyone but, since they're women, people just pass by the scene and shrug it off with complete indifference as their victims are crying out for help.
- Downplayed: There is one abuser on Tropetown, and he is male.
- Justified:
- Men in this culture are taught that abusing women is totally fine, while women are taught that abusing men is a crime.
- Because adult men are on average 50% stronger than women, it is believed that it's not possible for a woman to ever cause harm to anyone, especially not to a man, even if he's disabled, even if the guy is a 6 years old child.
- Inverted: The three abuse victims are Donald, Elliot, and Fred, and the three abusers are Alice, Bella and Carrie. No man is ever mentioned to be an abuser.
- Subverted: We learn that Bella is lying about Fred abusing her, and that she's actually the one abusing Fred.
- Double Subverted: Bella lied because she wants attention, not to cover anything up, and Fred is abusing his sister, Gina.
- Parodied: When Gina starts abusing her husband, "Gina" suddenly turns into Gilbert and everyone completely forgets that Gilbert used to be Gina.

- Averted: Abusers and victims are mixed gender.
- Enforced:
- Because of the high statistics of male-on-female abuse, the producers don't want to include a female abuser and male victim because they worry that is disrespectful to female victims and are too uncomfortable with mentioning woman-on-child abuse, despite the statistics showing clearly that women are by far the worst offenders in that regard.
- The author lived in an era where women are weak was the common belief, the very idea of a female abuser was considered to be utterly insane.
- Lampshaded: "Of course, Fred is the one abusing Bella, only men can be abusers. Everyone knows that!"
- Invoked: Double Standard: Abuse, Female on Male.
- Exploited: Because Gina knows no one will ever come after her because her being female trumps anything she could do to anyone, she goes around abusing, brutalizing or even plain killing men, women and children to her twisted heart's content without consequence.
- Defied: Gina starts abusing her husband just to be the one female abuser.
- Discussed: "Even men can be abused, and even women can be abusers. This isn't TV."
- Conversed: "The belief that women have the physical capacity of a kleenex is exactly what Black Widows and Vamps count on to get away with murder, even of their own children."
- Implied: Alice, Bella and Carrie seem afraid of the men in their lives and have bruises constantly.
- Deconstructed: Because most of the abusers in Troperia are male and most victims are female, when Holden is abused by Gina, no one believes him until he dies or is crippled by Gina's abuse.
- Reconstructed: The police department in Troperia has a policy that anyone claiming abuse will be believed and brought to court regardless of gender.
- Played for Laughs: The abuse includes such horrors as throwing pies at the women's faces, giving the women swirlies, and inflicting other Amusing Injuries on the women.
- Played for Horror: Monster Misogyny.
