The Grand United Alliances of the Pantheon

The Grand United Alliances of the Pantheon are the major alignment-based factions of the Pantheon. With many deities, especially the older deities of the Pantheon, dedicated to the needs of Good or Evil, or to satisfy their want for Law or for Chaos (or to cause the Destruction of the whole Pantheon), their creation was inevitable, and with the conflicting Alliances, the opposing Alliances would wage a massive war against one another back in the Pantheon's infancy, where the world was ripe for conflict. However, as the Pantheon grew bigger and bigger, and more neutral deities that could care less about the war, either to live out their own independent lives as deities or focus on their own goals, or perhaps driven by less comprehensible motives, became a prevalent group in the Pantheon as those mainly driven to serve the values of their main alignment. Eventually, with all sorts of new conflicts and revolutions within the Pantheon, the Alliances all decided to settle down and create an effective cease-fire between Alliances (bar the Grand United Alliance of Destruction, who continue their usual work), meaning that the Alliances would no longer try to directly invade each other (sometimes they have minor scuffles here and there), but instead expand upon the boundless lands of the Pantheon in separate directions, with there being more than enough space for all of them. Leaving each other alone for the time being, the Alliances are now focused on creating their own communities and societies focused on promoting their own alignment's values over the others.

Important Guideline - You do not need to ask for approval on the forum to contribute, unlike profiles!

Unlike profiles, there is no need to go on the forum to discuss whether a character would belong in an Alliance or not. Given that the character in question is currently in the Pantheon anyway note , contributors are expected to instead read the guidelines below, as well as the Alliance pages sufficiently and decide for themselves whether the character in question is fit for a certain Alliance subdivision and how. Assuming you know what you are doing, you can freely put in your Alliance entry into the appropriate page without mentioning it in the forum. Other contributors will judge whether the entry belongs or not, and if not, it will be either moved to a better place or get removed (hopefully with a stated edit reason).

Guidelines for Alliance Contribution (And Other Pantheon Groups)
Alliances are not the "Cool Kids' Club", but optional supplementary material for the Pantheon.
  • There's no need, let alone pressure, to involve characters you are writing for into the Alliances if there's nothing additive or convenient gained from such an involvement. There's also no point in adding a character in said Alliances all for the purpose of coolness, and given how mundane some roles can be, the main reason a character would be involved in an Alliance or similar group is if it's significantly in-character for them to do so.

"Ask not what the Alliance can do for you, but what you can do for your Alliance."

  • The Alliances do not revolve around a single character or series. While old Pantheon factions used to be built all around a single character's goals and philosophy or centered around the cast of a single series, the Pantheon is big enough so such a thing no longer needs to limit the purposes of such big groups to solely serve the personal agendas of even the current Alliances' council leaders, and mainly for those where the alignment's promoted alignment is suitable for their character as a whole.

The Alliances are not at constant war with each other anymore.

  • Excluding the GUAD, who continue to keep their role as the wannabe destroyers of the Pantheon, making them the Arch-Nemesis of the entire Pantheon, conflict between Alliances is mainly some tension with occasional struggles and scuffles between individuals from some of them at times. While some deities may be more willing to bring the fight to the other Alliances on a greater scale, Alliances will be more dedicated to fulfilling the roles of their Alignment separated from the others rather than get into dogfights constantly. As such, combat-related divisions outside the GUAD will be a minority in the Alliances instead of a majority. Just having considerable power or fighting skill alone will not cut it.

These pages are the best place for Alliance-focused interactions.

  • If you want a character have an interaction focused on an Alliance or group they'd fit in, they can be written in the appropriate page that befits them. While secondary Pantheon writing like this isn't forbidden on Pantheon profiles, a profile shouldn't need to have interactions with Alliances or similar groups unless they're the kind of character that would interact with such groups.

Guidelines for Writing An Alliance Entry
If you're adding in a new deity from a profile in the Pantheon into an Alliance here, it should follow along this template:

Deity Name & Trope-Based Title

  • Ranking (Their Divine Ranking)
  • Symbol + Alignment (Their symbol and alignment according to their profile. Their current, default alignment should match the alignment of the Alliance)
  • Reason for joining (Deities should be in it or willing to join it to contribute toward furthering the alignment itself in the Pantheon)
  • Cooperation Ability (Represents how well the deity can generally work with not only the leaders, but other Alliance members outside their profiles' Allies section.)
  • Role (A general explanation about their intended duties & contributions toward their group or Alliance in particular, relation with other Alliances OPTIONAL)

You may notice that for the Grand United Alliance of Destruction in particular, their entries use "Threat Level" instead of "Role", though effectively it still insists on elaboration on what they do. This is primarily just because a GUAD member's main role in the first place is attempting to destroy or facilitate destruction of the Pantheon, and measuring their threat to the Pantheon serves more significant purpose than just making them look cool. Do not add this to other Alliances' entries, please.
