The Targets

    Lila Rossi
  • Just everything about Lila in general. At the start of the story, she has completely turned the class against Marinette, framing her for things she didn’t do and having her former friends lash out at her. Her Palace is an Empire at Collége Francoise Dupont, showing how she sees the school as her Kingdom, and she is the Empress in charge. And what the Thieves find in the Palace only makes things worse. Lila’s cognition of Alya, her most loyal supporter? An executor with an axe. Adrien’s cognition? A mute and completely obedient Sex Slave, complete with a chain on his neck. All of the other students? Statues in a garden that grow flowers respresenting their hopes and dreams. And those flowers are harvested and used as fuel for Lila’s lies.
    • Even worse, it’s shown that Marinette’s class isn’t the only class that had went through that treatment: All the students that Lila had used in the past and can no longer use have their statues destroyed and have no more flowers growing for her to harvest, showing Lila no longer has any use for them.
    • Worst of all is the areas she has for the people that stand up to her that ultimately ended up dead thanks to her manulipations. One is a area where the bodies of those people are shown crucified, with their heads on pikes. The other is a gallery, full of shelves filled with items that explains what each of her victim’s dream/passion was. And she had spots prepared for Marinette.
    Miss Bustier
  • Her Cognitions of her students: All of them are Creepy Dolls that are each in a ‘cell’ that represents the career path that Bustier wants them to take. And if one gets a crack, it represents a time someone had failed her expectations of them. Chloe and Lila’s are completely destroyed, while Adrien’s is in perfect condition.
    • Special mention goes to her cognition of Marinette: Not only is her doll is completely cracked, but her cell door is marked with a star, showing how Bustier expects her to be her ‘model student.’ And in the back of the cell, a system is set up, representing how Marinette tries to get the students to do different things: A sewing machine deposits objects that represents a potential interest for the student down a chute and into another section. If the item represents something Bustier doesn’t want for the student, it is then glitched out. Just the very sight of the room is enough to send Chance into a panic attack.
    Bob Roth
  • Bob Roth’s arc: It starts off when Juleka is nearly kidnapped by two men, with the heroes barely saving her. And when the Thieves access his Palace, its revealed that he sees all of Paris as a jungle and the girls in it as hogs for his Shadow Self and Shadows to hunt. Then the Thieves get their suspicions confirmed that Bob Roth is involved in human-trafficking and Juleka is his next target, fully intending to sell her off to someone in Germany.
    • Even worse, a talk with XY reveals that Bob had kidnapped his mother (who was twenty years younger then him) and impregnated her. And despite having a court case coming, XY warns Marinette and Luka that he believes that Bob would simply bribe the judge into siding with him. Worst of all, XY reveals why Bob had Juleka targeted: To get revenge on Luka for what happened in Silencer, and hold her for ransom, while planning on not releasing her.
    • XY also warns that Bob will most likely have his men come after Juleka again, this time armed, after the trial. This really gives an emphasis on how serious the coming dead line is, in comparison to the others note : If the Thieves don’t change his heart before then, Juleka will be kidnapped and will most likely never be seen again.
     Hawk Moth/Gabriel Agreste
  • Hawk Moth’s arc is easiest the darkest one yet and is the one with the highest stakes: Not only is it made clear that he only sees his son, Adrien, as a robotic slave with no free will, both his Shadow Self and his congnition of Nathalie view the real Adrien as a fake, as in Gabriel’s eyes, Adrien is never to defy him. And to make things worse, Bunnix warns that if the Palace isn’t completed before the deadline, Gabriel will akumatize Adrien into Chat Blanc in an desperate attempt to win, not only crossing the one line he has left, but also end up inadvertently causing the end of the world, leaving the Thieves in a race against time to change his heart before it’s too late.
    • What makes this worse is the fact that the true villain of Persona 5, Yaldabaoth, doesn’t want to destroy humanity: He wants to control it. And while he does win in the Bad Endings of Persona 5, he simply removes all of those with chaos in their hearts while ruling over the rest. Gabriel’s Bad Ending would have him inadvertently destroying humanity by akumatizing his son into a Angst Nuke just to get Emilie back.
