- 6,000 years ago, Brimir summoned a Honedge and unaware it was sentient, tore out its soul to bond Derflinger to it. Arceus responded by leading all of the Legendaries (that existed at the time, so no Mewtwo and this includes the nice Cresselia and Xerneas and the neutral Rayquaza, Kyureum and Zygarde) to rampage across the Holy Land, reducing it to a desert and devastating Brimir's people and the Elves. The angry Elves rightfully blamed Brimir for this and drove his people out of the Holy Land and this set the stage for Terre's modern state and Brimir's transformation into a bitter, spiteful man.
