- The wolf howls at the beginning of "Hush" are pretty damn creepy.
- "Fault Line" off Deep Purple is similarly creepy due to reverse-tracking and other such tricks.
- "Man Alive" from Whoosh. The titular man is actually the last human being on the planet. Humanity is going to go extinct.
- Better yet, the song was first released during the COVID-19 pandemic, a rather chilling coincidence. While it won't kill us all (probably), the potential end of humanity is still on people's minds.
- The Last Note Nightmare ending to "Child in Time" is very unsettling.
- A lot of the band's early live recordings include an eerie instrumental Cover Version of Paint It Black, played at a far more frantic pace than the original and with a more aggressive guitar tone. A far less creepy version with vocals would be played in the 90s.
