He provides examples of:
- Damn, It Feels Good to Be a Gangster!: It helps that his group was the Trope Namer.
- Gangsta Rap: Type 1, although most of his earlier stuff (especially Mr. Scarface Is Back) was Type 3.
- Ironic Nursery Tune: He did this a couple times on his earlier albums. Most notably, 'Mr. Scarface Is Back'' opens with a tale of Scarface getting into a confrontation with some dope fiends, set to the tune of "The Itsy Bitsy Spider".
- Take That!: "Hand of a Dead Body", a track with Ice Cube is one towards the Moral Guardians, as well as Don Cornelius for telling Ice Cube on national television he hated rap and didn't understand why it was popular.
- Villain Protagonist: On many of his songs, especially on the album Mr. Scarface Is Back.
