I don't think through things, I never get time, cause I don't think things through

Catfish and the Bottlemen are a Welsh rock band. While they formed in 2007 they didn't release their debut album until 2014. The main members are Van McCann and Benji Blakeway.

Following a brief hiatus following The Balance in 2019, they would come back in 2024, releasing a new single "Showtime".

Every once in a while, the little things make me smile, as if one of our longtropes paid off:

  • Design Student's Orgasm: The covers of the albums show a headless couple putting a hand into eachother's trousers, an alligator eating its own tail and a toucan drinking a can with a straw respectively.
  • One-Woman Song: "Kathleen" and "Emily".
  • Precision F-Strike: Shows up in a few of their songs, but notably "Cocoon".
But fuck it if they talk
Fuck it if they try and get to us
'Cause I'd rather go blind than let you down
  • Silly Love Songs: A fair amount of their songs are these, such as "Cocoon", which is about a guy falling in love with a "good girl" and how they gradually become more alike.
