Bad Nerves in 2021

Bored alive
Nothing to love, nothing to worship
I need something else
Mad in my mind, I need you now.
— "Mad Mind"

Bad Nerves is a British Punk Rock and Power Pop band from Essex, England. They have cited The Ramones and The Strokes as their main inspirations. In 2020 they released their debut album "Bad Nerves" and in 2023 they released "Alive in London," a Live Album. Most recently, they've toured with the hard rock duo Royal Blood on their North America tour during the fall of 2023. They will also be touring with Nothing but Thieves in 2024.

Discography

  • Bad Nerves (2020)
  • Alive in London (2023)

This band provides examples of

  • Aristocrats Are Evil: The attitude towards the British monarchy in "Palace."
Why does the Queen get a fucking palace, but not me? Oh
    Na-na-na-na, na-na-na-na
  • Eagleland: In "USA."
  • Friend Versus Lover: In "Bored of Babies" the narrator laments over his friend's abandonment of him in favor of his wife, who the narrator believes isn't treating him well.
  • Patriotic Fervor: Parodied in their single "USA."
  • Rock is Authentic, Pop is Shallow: Zig-zagged in "Radio Punk," the band critiques made-for-radio rock music but also comments they their own music is ironically fairly radio-friendly.
  • Unrequited Love Lasts Forever: The main theme of "Can't Be Mine."
