"You mean how I murdered dozens of respectable (albeit boring) human beings for no reason? Don't lose sleep over it."
The Mysterious Bust Killer, Turnabout Substitution

The lawyers of the Ace Attorney universe deal with reprehensible criminals all the time, so it should be no surprise that the works by fans have villains who are just as evil.

The Torrential Turnabout can be found here.

Franchise-Wide
  • Beyond the Shadows: Nathan Mags is the CEO of Red Co. who, desiring wealth and power by any means, finances the Rivales crime syndicate to use them as his personal enforcers, forcing them and his own employees into murdering anyone who gets in his way while letting innocents take the blame for his crimes. Killing Matt Doore to stop him from revealing his involvement in burning an Interpol agent alive, Nathan then tries to kill Phoenix Wright to stop him from getting involved. From behind bars, Nathan helps capture all his co-conspirators out of resentment that they're free while he's not, using his cooperation to gaslight Apollo Justice while boasting about his evil deeds, hoping to get a lighter sentence rather than help for any altruistic reason.
  • Conflict of Interest: Carlo Luciano is a vicious and vindictive assassin who worked for the Rivales Family. Killing numerous people for his employers, Luciano helped Francisco Mendirez butcher the Cadaverini Family, faking his death with the help of Mendirez when Michael Rivales ordered him killed. Upon Mendirez trying to kill him in a fit of paranoia, Luciano dedicated himself to making him suffer for his betrayal. Impersonating Mendirez after he becomes the head of the family, Luciano kills Cody Hackins and attempts to have Maya Fey assassinated, forcing Mendirez's allies to take the fall for these crimes in order to make them think that he betrayed them. Luciano later kills three people and frames Mendirez for the murders to get him sent to jail as the final part of his revenge to ruin his reputation. When Phoenix reveals Luciano's crimes to the court, Luciano takes Detective Watters hostage and tries to kill Phoenix.
  • Operation: Turnabout:
    • Captain Adel Renard is the true mastermind behind the events of the Helios-6 Incident. Taking on a mission to deliver some explosives to a group of insurgents for the thrill of it, Renard convinced Captain Harvey to supply him with the dangerous Helios-6 to give to them under the pretense they would be given to the army. After betraying the insurgents, Renard tells Harvey just who he actually supplied with Helios-6 and convinces him to kill his entire company in an explosion to silence them. Renard later blackmails Harvey as part of his "game" to see how far he can push his paranoia, murdering him once he was about to get a promotion that would free him from his grasp.
    • Captain Janus Harvey is a corrupt member of the Allied Nations, despised by everyone around him. While in a peacekeeping mission in the country of Aresia, Harvey was convinced by Adel Renard to supply him with some Helios-6 in exchange for money. Upon finding out about where the explosives went, Harvey proceeded to kill his entire platoon at Renard's suggestion in an attempt to silence them. Harvey spent the next few years blaming everyone he could for the incident, including gaslighting fellow survivor Lieutenant Victoria into believing she was responsible for it.

Specific Works

  • Phoenix Wright fan musical Turnabout Musical (2016 version):
    • Redd White is the same smarmy CEO of Bluecorp who uses his information company to blackmail hundreds. A smug, controlling businessman who has the entire country in the palm of his hand, White threatens politicians, policemen, and lawyers with exposing their secrets if they don't follow his orders. With his ego resulting in the suicides of hundreds whose lives he's ruined, to which he remains apathetic towards, White had many years ago launched a smear campaign against the police in order to get attorney Marvin Grossberg to serve him lest he reveal his involvement in the failed DL-6 case, which also ruined the lives of the entire Fey clan. With Mia Fey planning to reveal his corruption to the press, White personally kills her and attempts to frame Mia's sister Maya and Phoenix Wright himself for the murder.
    • Manfred von Karma is the same monster he is in the game, but manages to be even crueler. For years, von Karma has been working as a prosecutor, using underhanded tactics to maintain his perfect winning streak, not caring if the defendants are guilty or not. When defense attorney Gregory Edgeworth ruins his perfect record, Manfred murders him. Manfred then adopts Edgeworth's son Miles and raises him to be as ruthless a prosecutor as he is. Von Karma then manipulates a man whose life was ruined by Gregory's murder into committing murder and framing Edgeworth. Manfred later attacks Phoenix Wright and Maya Fey with a stun gun in order to steal evidence, gleefully shocking Phoenix several times after he's knocked out. When Edgeworth is found innocent, von Karma tries to get him executed for Gregory's murder, before attempting to kill him himself.
  • Apollo Justice Fan Sequel Turnabout Substitution: The Mysterious Bust Killer, Apollo's partner Rhea Wits, murdered a dozen people, including her brother. Wits tricked the innocent Robert Erlenmeyer into believing he was responsible for the murders, and made him confess. After Erlenmeyer's escape, Wits planned to kill him and hide his body so the police would be left searching for a dead man, leaving Wits free to kill again. After the judge witnessed Wits trying to bury Erlenmeyer alive in a cemetery, Wits decided to just kill the judge and frame Erlenmeyer for his murder as well. After being accused by Apollo of being the true killer, Wits taunted him and implied that Apollo would be the next target. When finally revealed, Wits said that at least she made better use of her life than the victims did of theirs.
  • Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney fanfic Luke Triton: Ace Attorney (link): Dr. Marlon Morrow, initially seeming like a friendly man and a loving partner to his girlfriend, Prosecutor Michaela Skellig, reveals himself to be a selfish, sociopathic crook. Paranoid over his illicit dealings being discovered, Morrow decides to kill anyone who might stumble onto his operations. He murders a journalism student from a nearby college and stages it as an accident. When Phoenix Wright grows suspicious, Morrow meets with him only to beat him into a coma. Posing as an ally to Luke Triton, who's investigating the assault, Morrow frames fellow doctor Tsyle and sees them convicted in his stead. Going on to murder two more men poking around the hospital, Morrow sets up one as a suicide and frames the other on Professor Layton's son Alfendi, using his position at the hospital to forge medical examinations. When Luke gets too close to the truth, Morrow tries to make him back off by almost murdering his assistant Marina as well. When his crimes are finally exposed in court, he lashes out spitefully towards Skellig, outing her as a transgender woman to the public to get back at her for turning on him.
