Imagination
is a stand-alone CYOA created by a writer of the name End Master, who is also a prominent site member of a site called ChooseYourStory. Unlike many of his other works, featuring mature and graphic themes, this interactive story is geared more towards children. Though the content is one that could be enjoyed by all audiences, offering many of the branching paths and also ways for you to meet an untimely demise in many of the choices that are presented for the reader to take. There's multiple endings, ranging from good or bad that the player could experience in their play-through of this story.
Tropes found in Imagination:
- Awful Wedded Life: The wizard Melcor and his wife Talia are introduced bickering to one another pretty heavily, the interaction ending with the latter throwing her hands up, distraught with the her husband.
- Be Careful What You Wish For: The child protagonist starts the story remarking of how average the world he lives in, but he is soon thrust into an adventure that has him fighting to return to his home.
- Kid Hero: The protagonist can certainly become this in several of the routes in the story.
- Or Was It a Dream?:Many of the good ending routes end like this, usually with the kid's toys or certain objects from the dream being visible in sight when he awakens in the real world.
- There's No Place Like Home: The story stars a confused kid that is thrust into an adventure that has him constantly hunted by strange shadow like creatures, and of course he would like nothing more than to go home to his mother.
- Trapped in Another World: The premise of this story, as you play as a kid that is suddenly ripped from the safety of his own room and world by strange unearthly beings.
