A trilogy of short stories published by one Jake Wick on the Creepypasta Wiki, the From Hell trilogy chronicles the misdeeds of Eileen Hoffmister, a sinister old woman and Wicked Witch devoted to Satan, and her husband, Leo. The trilogy consists of:
- From Hell I Write
: Narrated by 11-year-old Patrick Williams and based on Wick’s copyrighted screenplay, it tells the story of how Patrick met Eileen, eventually culminating in his damnation. - Nancy’s Angelface: Set 20 years after the previous story, Nancy is making an effort to get her life together after the events of that horrible night when she was 5. She meets a man named Jackson, but just when everything seems to be getting better, the nightmares begin …
- Slave By Sundown: A prequel story about a girl named Stella, who tours her neighborhood frequently, and one day, stumbles upon a cottage in the woods where she meets Eileen.
Tropes included in these stories:
- And I Must Scream: This is Eileen's entire MO. She offers people — usually children — to Satan to transform into zombie slaves. Once they've completely decayed, their souls are sent to Hell for an eternity of darkness, extreme heat, and other horrible things.
- Anti-Anti-Christ: Jackson is revealed to be the son of Eileen and Satan, but has taken a somewhat more noble path in life, intending to save his mother’s soul from damnation. Even if his methods of doing so are barbaric.
- Bullying a Dragon: Leo punches the possessed Eileen for refusing to let him rape Nancy. It ends about as well as you can expect.
- Demonic Possession: Eileen willingly lets a demon inside her body so she can capture the children more easily.
- Dirty Old Man: Leo, a 60-something year old man, tries to rape Nancy, a then-5-year-old girl.
- Downer Ending:
- In From Hell I Write, Patrick’s entire family — along with David and a few neighborhood kids, and Patrick himself — is zombified with the exception of Nancy, and are sent to Hell upon their final deaths. Plus Eileen got away.
- The sequel, Nancy’s Angelface, ends on an only slightly less sour note. Eileen is dead, but Nancy has broken up with Jackson, unable to handle the revelation that he was the son of Eileen and Satan. And she’s now pregnant with his child, the grandson of Lucifer himself.
- Slave By Sundown is a subversion. After managing to escape the Hoffmisters, Stella and her family move away from their neighborhood. However, the Hoffmisters are still out there, and it’s not clear if the ending, where Lester is tapping at her window is just a nightmare, or if it’s actually real.
- The Dragon: Leo is this to Eileen, and Eileen is this to Satan.
- Evil Old Folks: The 60-something Hoffmisters are pedophiles, Abusive Parents, devil-worshipers, slavers, and murderers.
- Fan Disservice: Nancy has nightmares of Eileen, a 60-year-old hag, copulating with the Devil.
- Fire and Brimstone Hell: Implied, although it’s described as consisting more of darkness and heat than fire and brimstone.
- Hollywood Satanism: Eileen and Leo worship the Devil and offer him souls. Although there’s a bit of Santeria mixed in with their beliefs, what with the chicken sacrifice and cigar-smoking.
- Our Demons Are Different: When they possess a host, the host is apparently still given at least some degree of control over their own body. And they emerge in physical form after the death of their host.
- Our Zombies Are Different: Humans who are offered to Satan, and if he accepts them, then they will become his undead slaves until they completely rot away, at which point, they are sent to Hell.
- You Have Failed Me: Eileen kills Leo for trying to retaliate against her and do things his way.
