Main installments:

    Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc
  • In the LP thread, thanks to time between updates and readers bouncing ideas off one another, almost every plot twist has been predicted at some point. Bonus points for when the correct guesses are made and then shot down.
  • However, some of it might be from people who played the game before or looked at spoilers and are presenting what they know happened as "theories".
  • Perhaps the biggest example is the infamous JUNKOS theory. Basically, someone thought that while it made sense for Sayaka to be a Sacrificial Lamb, it didn't make sense for Junko to be one, given that we learned so little of her character. The theory then goes to say Junko must have a Backup Twin. It became a Running Gag in the LP thread until it was proven right.
  • The reveal that Chihiro is a Wholesome Crossdresser. Easier to figure out in the Japanese version due to said character being voiced by a man who is obviously trying to sound like a woman.

Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope's Peak High School
  • Many fans guessed the Ultimate Therapist, a character mentioned in Danganronpa 2, would be a character here. Sure enough, turns out it's Miaya's talent.
  • Many, many fans guessed Chiaki would return.
  • The opening scene of Side:Future confirms the long-held Fanon that Fuyuhiko lost his eye as despair.
  • Many people believed Fuyuhiko's sister's name was Natsumi Kuzuryu long before her debut in Side:Despair.
  • Many guessed at Ruruka and Sonosuke being a couple before the anime started airing, based purely on Sonosuke's profile.
  • A common theory was that Miaya was Monaca, and right they were. For the most part.
  • Chisa having feelings for Kyosuke was assumed by many due to her profile. That the feeling was actually mutual, as made increasingly clear as the anime went on, was more of a surprise.
  • Many correctly guessed that Koichi would go out in Heroic Sacrifice saving Kyoko. Similarly, many guessed that his NG code had something to do with his left hand since he doesn't take it out of his coat pocket.
  • Many guessed as well that Ruruka activated Sonosuke's NG code and killed him.
    • And many more also guessed that Juzo's Forbidden Action was punching anyone.
  • Many fans guessed that, due to Side: Despair being a massive Foregone Conclusion (and a less than happy one at that), that the series would find some to tie its two halves together at the end. This was eventually confirmed to be the case late in the series run when it turned out the final episode was shared. And everyone guessed the special broadcast would be called Side:Hope.
  • Episode 10 of Side:Future confirms a fan theory that Chisa is a Despair remnant and possibly the mastermind for the killing game. And Kyosuke's NG Code was opening doors.
  • There were two popular theories on what Kazuo told Kyosuke that caused him to Go Mad from the Revelation, those being either "The Attacker Alternates" or that Chisa was a despair. Episode 10 proved in a sense both to be correct.
  • A lot of fans correctly guessed that it was Chiaki's death that pushed the others into becoming the Remnants of Despair.
  • In Side: Despair, despite the fact that it seemed to hint that Juzo had romantic feelings for Chisa, quite a few fans theorized that he was actually Ambiguously Gay for Kyosuke. Episode 10 finally confirmed this to be true.
  • Many of fans correctly guessed that there was no "attacker", and all the victims committed suicide.
  • Quite a few fans correctly guessed that Juzo was still alive.
  • It was common guesses among fans that Kazuo's dying message was aimed at Ryota and the latter having a "Hope Anime" on his phone. The final episode of Side:Future confirmed both to be true.
  • Many people guessed that Kyoko didn't really die, something which was confirmed in the closing moments of Side:Hope.

    Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony
  • Many fans doubted that the robot boy (K1-B0) would be the new protagonist. While they were wrong that the twin-tail girl (Maki Harukawa) was the true protagonist, neither was he. The protagonist ended up being Kaede Akamatsu, a character who had not been shown until the following PV.
  • Many fans guessed that Kaede would have a musically-themed talent, due to her hair decs and the patterns in her skirt. Sure enough, it turned out that she's the Ultimate Pianist.
  • Fans have correctly guessed some of the characters' talents, including Ryoma Hoshi as the Ultimate Tennis Player, Gonta Gokuhara as the Ultimate Entomologist, Angie Yonaga as the Ultimate Artist, and Himiko Yumeno as the Ultimate Magician.
  • Many correctly called Maki Harukawa being voiced by Maaya Sakamoto.
  • Many fans correctly predicted that Shuichi and Maki would be among the survivors.
  • The identity of the first victim was an extremely common and specific prediction, since Kaede falls right into the "seemingly-important character" mold even more blatantly than Sayaka or the Imposter... Making the identity of the killer into the real shocking reveal.
  • Many fans predicted Korekiyo Shinguji being a killer, but turned out to be Right for the Wrong Reasons: people correctly deduced that the shot of an execution seen in the opening showing a thorny vine going through a spider web was based on the Japanese short story "The Spider's Thread", and believed that it tied into Korekiyo's talent as the Ultimate Anthropologist and his vine motif seen in his official art. The execution shown is actually Kirumi's.
  • Even before the Datamine, Spoiler, and Trophy Leaks, many fans correctly guessed that V3 will fit the series' formula to the Tee, including Kaede not being the real protagonist. This was first brought out by OmegaValwin's "Pink = Lies" theory.
  • Many fans correctly predicted that Derek Stephen Prince would voice Kokichi in the English dub.

Spin-offs:

Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls
  • Most fans guessed the main heroine was Makoto's sister well before it was actually announced.
  • Quite a lot of people guessed that Masaru would be the first member of the Warriors of Hope to die. When the game out, they were proven to be correct... Well, he's the first to be defeated, anyway.
  • Pretty much all of the exact theories were inaccurate, but most people did guess that, in some way, Komaru was connected to Junko Enoshima.
  • Many correctly pinned Monaca as a Bitch in Sheep's Clothing. They weren't prepared for how evil she truly is, though.
