"Javi, we did this together!"
- Javi looks pretty nervous when introducing himself to Nicolas Cage, but Nick dissipates his worries by giving him a respectful salute, which Javi repeats.
- Nick and Javi spend their first full day together improvising an adventure, discussing their favorite movies, and playing Truth or Dare. Before Javi retreats to his room for the night, Nick thanks him for providing the best time he's had in years.
- Javi recites a speech at his birthday party about watching Guarding Tess with his dying father, fondly remembering the movie as one of the few things that both men loved.Javi: In a way, my father was Tess. The former First Lady. And I was Doug Chesnic. The Secret Service agent charged with taking care of him. That movie brought us together. So, on behalf of my late father and myself, I want to thank you. I bet you didn't know Doug Chesnic could have such an impact on someone.
- Nick gives Javi a pair of his shoes, to demonstrate the distinctively sweet lengths he'd go to keep "Javs" happy. Once Javi finishes putting them on, Nick delivers one Tear Jerker of a monologue about how much he values their friendship, which Javi comments reflects his sentiments as well.Nick: I'm really glad I got to meet you. You're the kind of friend I could not see for years, and not even really talk to, and just pick up right where we left off.
Javi: I totally agree. It's just...
Nick and Javi: ...easy. - After Maria spends several worrisome days trapped in Lucas' dungeon, she softly calls it "fucking cool" of Nicolas Cage to save her.
- The movie that Javi and Nick write about their friendship earns a standing ovation at the premiere. Afterwards, Nick congratulates Javi for writing such a crowd-pleaser. Javi thanks Nick for helping him make it.
- Nick skips the premiere afterparty to watch another film with Olivia and Addy. Addy unknowingly chooses Javi's third-favorite picture, which Nick gladly agrees to see again.
