Heartwarming / Super Robot Wars 30

  • Any time Koji, Amuro, and Ryoma interact is this, due to how when they're together, they can forget all the angst they've endured and just act like goofy teenagers for a while.
  • In "Inherited Bravery", Kouji, Tetsuya, and Ryoma are all shown to be downright proud of how well Mamoru and Kaido(and even Shiro) have grown up.
  • Lelouch vi Britannia and Quatro Bajeena/Char Aznable bond over the fact they are seen as history's greatest monsters in this age and talk about they can move forward after that. This could be seen as a nod to Char Aznable being an inspiration for Lelouch's personality meta-wise.
  • In the Special Scenario "Michele the Fortune Teller" has the titular character reading the fortunes of the Dreikreuz crew. One of these turns out to be Suzaku, whose question is not really about himself but actually about Lelouch as he's worried about how much time the latter has left. Michele tells Suzaku she can't answer that question and asks Suzaku why he wants to know. The latter replies that he just wants there to be no regrets between him and Lelouch, showing how much Suzaku has grown to forgive and care about his friend once more. Hearing this, Michele simply advises Suzaku to treasure the time they have regardless.
    • In the same scenario, Jona later comments, and Michele admits to, that she's just saying things they want to hear. Michele admits that some of the crew's optimism has affected her and doesn't want to see them become the pessimist she is.
  • In the Code Geass Mission, almost all of the pilots are dismissive of Shalio when fighting him (especially Ryoma, who basically tells him to go to bed because the adults are talking). Ernie of all people is the only one who treats him like a rival and Shalio even responds like he was taking on a challenge.
  • Like in the above, on the mission where you will face Zagato, everyone was either calling him out for imprisonment of Princess Emeraude, with the others calling him a criminal or kidnapper (considering the circumstances behind it is pretty painful to watch). One of the few people who didn't condemn him as much is Tetsuya, who declares his intent to fight him all he has and Zagato gladly obliges seeing him as an equally honorable warrior.
  • As mentioned with the Zagato fight above, Ogami from the Sakura Wars DLC is one of the few pilots who managed to see through Zagato's ruse as a villain and actually calls him out that his desire to keep the princess is not out of malice, but out of a desire to protect her. Knowing the source material, Ogami's instincts turns out to be right.
  • The debut of the Huckebein 30th with Edge. After losing in battle and almost despairing over being confronted with his past, he decides to fight once more and protects the Dreistragger. At the same time, he reaffirms his promise of protection to Mitsuba.
  • After failing to fuse Build Team is understable dissapointed with themselves, then each of team meet with different cast members who encourage the Brave Robots to not give up yet.
    • When Build Team tries again to combine, they get nervous again, that's when the rest of the cast start encouraging the Super A.I.s which is what they needed to finally become Build Tiger.
    • After Build Tiger is formed, Mamoru/Mitsuba comments on the tiger head on his chest, Commissioner Saejima says it's a tribute to a great man, Kotaro Taiga the former chief of GGG.
  • Captain Mitsuba's ace chat is pretty great. Typically the ace chats are kept to the protagonist and the pilot/pilots of a mech. In this case the protagonist starts to congratulate her only for Reynold to burst in telling the protagonist that they don't get to hog this with the rest of the Dreisstrager's faces rushing in to help. Clearly Mitsuba is loved by the crew.
  • No matter the order you recruit them, bringing Koji, Ryoma, Amuro, and Guy to the Dreikreuz is a heartwarming scenario. In this timeline, the four fought together ten years ago, when all of their main series went down. But over the decades, they either drifted apart, or were separated by dramatic events such as the fall of Axis and being sealed in another universe. Putting the Band Back Together with these heroes not only reunites friends, but also lifts the spirits of the generation of mecha pilots these heroes inspired.
  • One skit has Koji mention that this is the Super Robot Wars 30th anniversary. Tetsuya acknowledges the other Mazinger entries that aided in the fight for peace with the players across the world and Koji ends the message by hoping other players keep playing the series.
  • Edge and Az reuniting with each other. Throughout the Relic of Gold side missions, both reminisce about their time living together as a family and are hopeful that the other is living well. By the final one however the protagonist's sibling comes in out of nowhere to save the protagonist after they come under attack by the Quaestor's. By the end after securing the treasure, the protagonist admits they've received something even more valuable.
  • In "Heart to Heart", Hyoma has some special moments. Before the mission, he gives a pep talk to J-Decker about staying strong. It turns out he's so angry at the Fahrzeugs because it reminds him of Garuda learning he was a robot and his mother was really his creator. After the battle, one last Black Chieftain takes the Fahrzeugs back to the cryogentics dome since they decided they would rather sleep forever. Hyoma followed the Black Chieftain and invited him to join the Dreikreuz, but the Black Chieftain declines, settling to guard the Fahrzeugs' grave until his fuel runs out. He does ask for Hyoma to give him a proper name. Hyoma names him 'Garu' and leaves. Garu settles and prepares to guard and sleep, hoping to dream of his mother.
  • The above moment is even more heartwarming during the DLC scenario Hidden Factors, during the mission a group of reformed black chieftains who now refer to themselves as the Brave Platoon (a way to call themselves BP akin to the Brave Police which Gunmax notes), arrive to help against enemy reinforcements, if Victim was not recruited he leads them, but if he was, then the black chieftan in command reveals himself to be none other than Garu, who reminds and thanks Hyoma for giving him his new name before leading his unit after the enemy who run off.
  • If you have the DLC, then after defeating Debonair, there's a skit where Hikaru talks out with Ogami (already having a reputation of 'unwitting ladies man having a harem') about her loving Lantis, where she does express anxiety about the age difference. However, Ogami and the rest of the Imperial Combat Revue members assure her and the Magic Knights and Lantis for good measure that they know that what Hikaru and Lantis loved are basically what's inside them, their noble souls, instead of physical appearances, as long as they keep it at heart, age difference wouldn't matter.
  • When the Gridman Alliance meet ULTRAMAN for the first time, they all geek out over his appearance. They don't care if he doesn't grow, he's an Ultra. If you happened to complete the SSSS.GRIDMAN storyline before you do this event, even Akane can geek out at the sight!
  • At the end of Mikazuki's recruitment mission in the DLC 2 pack, when Reynold expresses shock at Mikazuki's condition and insists he be treated with care, Orga calls him "a good man". If you're at all familiar with the Crapsack World of Ironblooded Orphans, you'll know how significant this is.
    • All of Tekkadan gradually enjoying a world that doesn't totally treat them like garbage and a struggle to survive is touching even if Orga and Mikazuki never quite get fully comfortable with it. Even McGillis the scheming backstabber finds the lack of prejudice and political scheming very refreshing and enjoys getting to play heroic knight with Bael just like in all the stories he read. In a post game DLC conversation he mentions that all the various series pilots being hailed as heroes and respected for their power and skill rather than their family connections is exactly the kind of world he yearns to create back in the Post Disaster world.
  • Kei begins to reconsider her baking after the special scenario "The Secret Ingredient Is..." after learning that Amm and Lecee improved their cooking abilities, slightly, due to their affections for Daba. She begins to wonder if cooking for Izuru will help.
  • After the Quaestors are defeated and everyone is celebrating, Quattro explains that despair drove him to cut ties with Amuro and Kamille at which point he became no different from Quaestor. Amuro answers that Char Aznable is dead and that no one should care about the Red Comet anymore. Then Amuro finishes with "Glad to have you here, Quattro." in which Quattro answers with a heartfelt "Thank you, Amuro." Those two tried to kill each other a few years ago, that's how you do a Rebuilt Pedestal.
    • Amuro addressing him as Quattro at this point reinforces it as in Zeta Gundam, Amuro mainly addressed him as "Char" barring maintaining his disguise at the time. This signifies Amuro has buried the hatchet.
  • In "A Purified Land", Van saves Uso's mom from her gruesome canon fate, allowing her to reunite with her son at the end of the stage.
  • During the final battle with Alexis Kerib, when Gridman gains his Heroic Second Wind and saves Akane, Izuru proudly declares that he knew that Gridman would survive, as he is a true hero. Gridman proudly responds that Izuru and the rest of Dreikreuz are just as much heroes as he is. And if you're on the IF route, Caruleum will be fascinated by the concept of being a hero, with Edge/Az encouraging him to stick with them and learn more about what being a hero means.
    • To top it off, in another mission, Gridman suggests that if he had met Izuru first, he would've joined with him. That's right, Izuru gets validation on being a hero from a classic Toku hero themselves.
  • When Guy, Mamoru, Ikumi, and the Dreikreuz rescue Soldato J, Renais, and the rest of the old GGG crew from Triple Zero's influence. Special mention goes to the reunion between Guy and Mikoto.
  • When Armageddon!Ryoma takes damage for Hyoma, he says "Lay off my dear pupil !"
