Moment Subpages are Spoilers Off. You Have Been Warned.

  • This film is a love letter to the greatest talking dog in history, and it shows with the focus on Scooby and his friendships. Plus the easter eggs to various Hanna-Barbera features throughout the film are done in a subtle but clear way that enables a shared universe where all these characters are able to co-exist.
  • This film showcases the lifelong friendship between Scooby and Shaggy, as both get thrown into a grand adventure that tests their bond, and at the end of it they are still the best of friends, if not closer to each other.
  • Shaggy and a stray Scooby come across one another in the beginning. You can see it on his face that Shaggy's first thought is "He's mine now."
  • DeeDee's first meeting with Shag and Scoob. In any other show, the hypercompetent Action Girl would be snarky or sarcastic to the muggles she now has to babysit. But Dee Dee is nothing but friendly and helpful to them, telling them what she knows, and making them feel welcome and at ease.
  • Fred defending Shaggy after Blue Falcon blames him for Dastardly getting Scooby and the third skull. Keep in mind that Fred is picking a fight with a superhero who is bigger than he is for the sake of his friend.
    • Fred, Daphne, and Velma sticking up for Shaggy and Scooby to Simon Cowell earlier in the film also counts.
  • Dick Dastardly's greatest treasure, the one thing the dude literally goes to Hell and back for, is Muttley. Sure, they're supervillain jerks and start fighting five seconds after reuniting (and the loot is a nice extra), but still, Dick's #1 priority is and always shall be his dog.
    • Dastardly and Muttley reuniting; even Daphne lampshades this after witnessing them escape the portal with treasure.
Dastardly: Oh, I can't stay mad! YOU'RE ALIVE!
    • In return, Muttley breaking Dastardly out of prison using their old Mean Machine in the post-credits scene.
  • Daphne befriends one of Dastardly's robots that has been punished by having a vacuum for a head by helpfully emptying out the filter, which had been causing the robot to sneeze uncontrollably. From that moment on, "Dusty" is entirely on her side, to the point of stopping missiles from hitting the Mystery Machine, rallying the other robots to the gang's aid, and eventually joining the gang to watch their building for them while they're out solving mysteries.
    • Daphne was also the first person to reach out to Dastardly when she realized his shrine to Muttley meant something to him. And later, when she, Velma and Fred see Dastardly and Muttley running off with loot together, she's the only one remotely happy for their reunion.
  • Daphne stops Fred and Velma from arguing, and the trio realize they were hangry because Shag and Scoob weren't there. Later reinforced by the recognition that they're the heart. Shag and Scoob keep the others grounded so that they don't forget the little things to take care of themselves and each other.
  • Puppy Scoob licking Daphne's face when they first meet on Halloween. He's just met her, and immediately recognizes her as being a friend.
  • Fred offering to help Shaggy and Scooby before he even knew them. He had a heroic core, even as a child.
  • When it looks like Shaggy is forever trapped in the Underworld, all of Mystery Inc. is visibly upset. Daphne hugs Scooby to comfort him, while Velma tries desperately to think of a way to retrieve Shaggy.
