• Matt's first Pet the Dog moment comes around when Mike hopes to be like the popular kids, and Matt replies that he'd rather have Mike and be himself than have everyone and be a butt.
  Mike: That's...unusually sweet of you to say, Matt.

• Just the fact that Asher, who's been antagonistic towards Matt out of jealousy and envy, deeply regrets that it ended up driving him to actually beat him up.
  • Something that is very easy to miss is that Asher still refer to Matt as his friend while expressing his regret to Rose.

• Speaking of Rose, her interactions with Asher are too cute not to put here.
  • Same thing with Mike and Mara's relationship.
  • Evelyn and Matt's earlier interaction are awkwardly sweet.

• Rose managing to better herself and even become friends with the people she used to torment is nothing short of sweet. Her talk with Matt outside the school and wanting to stop Jordan is undeniable proof she indeed changed her ways.

• Mara comforting Matt like Rose did. It goes to show the friendship between the two, which was evident from the first conversation they had.

• The strong friendship between all six is evident in their willingness to stand up for and defend each other. People would kill to find a group of friends like that.

• Mike and Mara's relationship and interactions are nothing short of sweet, funny and adorable. They never cross the Sickening Sweethearts territory and they have a healthy dose of banter.

• Jordan is often immediately put in a good mood by Evelyn's presence. Despite the tragedy that the story ends on, she really did care for her.

• Anytime Jordan, Matt or Asher show their kind side to their friends.
