Atrocitus is pretty much wiping the floor with Carol, since he has much more experience as a Lantern and the Red Light of Rage is much more combat effective than the Violet Light of Love. But the Violet Light has a special power: to bring people who love each other together, bringing Hal to fight at Carol's side. And when Kilowog realizes that Hal is on Zamaron fighting Atrocitus, he immediately agrees to ultrawarp there, despite declaring attempting to ultrawarp without Aya to be suicidal stupidity. Because there are many different kinds of love, and Kilowog loves Hal as a comrade-in-arms as much as Carol loves him romantically.
