Heartwarming / Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna

Go To

As a Grand Finale and a send-off/reunion to Digimon Adventure and those who grew up with it, you can expect this grand film to reunite them with heartfelt moments from the Digi-Destined's final adventure.

  • The status of the Digi-Destined in the film's time. While they have grown apart to the point some of them don't even show up for missions anymore, there's no hard feelings between any of them, and each of the cast are quite fine with each other taking their own paths in life. Sora in particular in the "To Sora" short, who felt a lot of doubt over continuing to be a Digi-Destined at this point in her life and wasn't even that active in the film itself, had no grief from the others at all, with Mimi giving her advice for her situation, and Biyomon reassuring that she'll always be there for Sora no matter what life she chooses.
  • In general, the Digimon's relationships with the Digi-Destined. Whether their human partners are already working on their own life, or dealing with their impending separation, the Digimon are always willing to be there for their partners and help them out.
  • Even though he just learned about the horrible truth of their impending separation, Tai, while out and about as a new plan to capture Eosmon is formulated, decides to take Agumon out to eat and even brings him to his room to stay for the time they have left.
  • Davis' situation, with seeing him working on his strides towards his noodle shop and hanging out with the rest of the 02 Digi-Destined, is quite heartwarming, showing that he indeed intends to work on following his smaller yet heartfelt dream from 02's conclusion.
  • The trigger for the Final Digivolution. Power of Friendship incarnate, the Bond of Bravery/Friendship forms of Agumon and Gabumon respectively are both triggered by the affirmation between Tai and Agumon and Matt and Gabumon to do the right thing and save everyone, even if it does risk causing their separation.
  • The fact that, despite how what she did endangered every Digi-Destined on the planet, Tai and Matt were willing to save Menoa from her merging with Eosmon, encouraging her that even if she made a wrong choice in her life, her life isn't pre-determined by her choices.
  • Just this exchange, and the entire final scene between Tai and Agumon and Matt and Gabumon, also being a massive Tear Jerker.
Agumon: Yknow Tai... You sure have gotten big.
    Tai: And you never change...
  • Despite a heartbreaking farewell from their partners, Tai and Matt didn't let the loss of Agumon and Gabumon hold them back from continuing in their lives. In fact, it only seemed to help push them along to their paths to the future. While they do intend on meeting them again some day, they have no plans on letting their lives be overtaken by it as they make a future for themselves, continuing to keep moving forward in life.
Tai & Matt: But I can promise you this! I will see you again!
    • Special mention goes to Tai in particular. Despite having been separated from Agumon, and being well aware his friends also may be separated from their partners like he and Matt were, he doesn't take it as a sign to disconnect from Digimon entirely. Instead? He goes on to work on helping relations between the human and Digital worlds, leading to his path to becoming a diplomat of the Digital World as seen in 02's epilogue. And at the end, we see he's finished his college thesis: "How Humans and Digimon can Co-exist". He may not be a DigiDestined anymore, but Tai still cares a lot about Digimon and wants to help them out in whatever way he can.
  • It's important to keep in mind that, despite everything that happens in this film and potentially in Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning, the Digi-Destined will be reunited with their Digimon as seen in Digimon Adventure 02's epilogue. It goes to show that, even if they are separated, even if they do choose to go on a different path in life, the Digimon will always be a part of the cast's, and the viewers', lives.
