  • While I admit a lack of understanding of drag culture, it seems like a whole lot of problems would have been avoided if they'd just dressed as men during the road trip. They're clearly aware of (and worried about) the dangers of being in drag while in rural America. Is it seen as some kind of betrayal for a drag queen to wear men's clothes?
    • They even explicitly point out the difference between a drag queen, a transvestite, and a transsexual in the movie.
    • It also comes back to the "style or substance" debate when they buy the Cadillac. Vida said she felt like Jayne Mansfield driving the Cadillac, so most likely they're all in drag because they want to look like three beautiful women driving around in a stylish car. Drag performers generally do not dress up like that other than when performing, because like the car, it's Awesome, but Impractical for everyday activities.
