     Canon question
  • Apologies if this isn't quite a conventional headscratcher, but it's certainly left me scratching my head: is the short film in-continuity with the comic, or an Alternate Continuity? It seems to take up some ways into the future of the present day of the comic with no overt contradictions (depicting the first delivery from the renewed partnership with the funeral home), except that Rocky doesn't have any hint of a scar from his head injury as far as I could tell… Has this point been clarified by Word of God anywhere?
     Driving arrangements
  • A small one, but just an odd thing I noticed. When Mordecai is working with the Savoys, both in the pilot and in the comic, he always sits in the backseat (in the middle, presumably for symmetry reasons) and they take the front with Nico driving. In flashbacks to Mordecai working with Viktor, when they are in the car transporting a hostage/captive/whatever, Mordecai is now sitting in the front passenger seat with Viktor driving. Mordecai is pretty young but he should be old enough to drive - but does he not know how to or never learnt? That's a pretty big missing skill to have if ever the other drivers were incapacitated. Not to mention that in the pilot, if he had been the one behind the wheel he could have put paid to the Savoys constant habit of overriding his orders since he could have simply turned the car around, which would give him a big incentive to learn. Or is this some kind of gang code, where one person is the getaway driver and takes the wheel as the most proficient, one person is the triggerman (Mordecai) and anyone else is either the brains or the heavy (Serafine or Viktor again)?
