  • If the "anti-matter" weapon destroys all inorganic matter, why were the humans naked and also not sitting in puddles of diesel fuel? Most clothing consists of organic matter and so does fossil fuel? (Naked is probably Rule of Funny, but naked and sitting in diesel would be even funnier?) Or is it somehow specifically attuned to spare living matter, not just organic?
    • "Inorganic matter" may not be exactly what you think it is. If it were referring to living organic matter, for example. Also, why do you think that clothes and fuel can only be purely organic, as both are also made from synthetic materials and/or mixes? Merely having hydrocarbons present isn't likely what they meant.
  • Episode 9 tells us that 800 cycles (years) ago, a Catian and the first Assistaroid journeyed to Earth, hoping to sing the Insert Song from the anime Captain Future on the Earth's surface. Interesting factoid: Insert Songs, anime, TV, movies, radio, and phonographs were all invented less than 150 years ago!
    • Damn good episode, though.
    • She said she promised the captain she'd sing a song. She never said that he had a particular one in mind. She didn't pick the song until she heard it on her way to earth at the beginning of the episode
  • Why in god's name didn't Kio transfer leadership over to Eris? He has the freakin bell and if it's easy enough to transfer as the captain did for him it should only take 2 seconds to think, 'hey I don't want this (WHICH HE THINKS)' and go, 'here you take it' and hand it off to the only person in the room with experience in using it! It should be doubley obvious since Eris had previously given him her combat suit when she couldn't use it.
    • Then he would've had even less to do than he already does in the series (seriously, he can't do much because all the girls around him are ActionGirls. In-universe, Eris probably wouldn't think she could make the correct decisions, and probably couldn't have created the spaceship they'd need to get into space.
    • Kio has stated that he wants to help protect Eris, like she does with him; that bell would allow him to do so... also, Eris has experience using her bell, not the captain's advanced version, so no one actually has experience with that particular one. Plus, you presume that the bell would allow him to give it up - if Eris knew/felt that could be done, she would've said something. For all we know, maybe it has a limit to how many people it can be 'tuned' to, with one being normal, and two for emergency...

  • Do the Catians not realize that if they can turn a human into a Catian, changing gender should be just as easy? Or maybe they just like the 30-females-per-male ratio the way it is?
    • You're assuming that they would want to change genders. If no one volunteered, they'd have to force the issue via lottery. "We don't have enough males, and you lost the toss." Except while they might be able to change genders, they don't seem able to change personalities. So, you'd have several females turned male who we're still attracted to men, which does nothing to aid the breeding situation. And given we're talking about an alien race who changed the name of their planet to be accommodating to a technologically inferior world, the idea of forcibly altering someone's gender for convenience seems unlikely.
