This trope can sometimes end up being a bit uncomfortable for English-speaking fans, especially once the "[[BlindIdiotTranslation oh-my-God-that's-just-hilarious-they-have-no-idea-what-they-are-actually-saying-do-they]]" response starts to wear off. This generally can be avoided with dubbed translations, but when an English-speaker watches it subbed, it can very easily elicit a [[FacePalm feisu-pamu]] response.

** The MemeticMutation references the fact that a certain person might in fact be a [[CharClone clone]] of (or in the case above, actually ''is'') Char Aznable, based on their looks or their actions.

* One episode of ''Anime/{{Patlabor}}'' introduced the character officer Clancy, an American police officer temporarily attached to the Tokyo Police. She introduces herself by snapping a salute and saying 'Harro, I em offisser Crancy' to her team mates who only speak Japanese. So this character has an Irish surname, but she never learned to pronounce it?

* ''Manga/{{BECK}}'', a manga and later an anime about a band, contains a lot of Engrish, since some of the members are American, and their songs also contains a lot of Engrish. Late in the series they go to America, which results in even more Engrish. Given the that the vocalist is a real member of a popular band, and it's a really good manga and anime otherwise, the Engrish really hurts this.

** Some characters from the Cloud Village seem to have ThemeNaming off of English letters: Jei ('''J'''), Shi ('''C'''), and most importantly "Killer '''Bee'''". Humorously, some fans seem to have not only insist on referring to Killer Bee by a direct romanization (thus, "Kirabi"), but back-translated it into the GratuitousJapanese "Killer Hachi". This also applies to some [[JustForPun bilingual puns]] with attacks names: "Rariatto", "Erubo", and "Raiga Bombu" all have Japanese meanings, but are also the Japanese pronunciations of "Lariat", "Elbow", and "Liger Bomb", [[WrestlerInAllOfUs which are pretty accurate descriptions of what the attacks are]].

Until you realize that the text had been copied from a random article that has absolutely nothing to do with the what the report is supposed to be about. They did something similar in the anime with an article from wikipedia, but at least the text matched the subject (a city the exorcists were being dispatched to).

* ''Literature/ChromeShelledRegios'' has a bit of [[SurprisinglyGoodEnglish rather well done]] English dialogue covering the last few minutes of Episode 3. And a segment in English halfway through most episodes.

* One can't ignore the hilarious moments in ''Manga/ItazuraNaKiss'' where Christine (Chris) and Naoki speak in English, especially since Chris is supposedly a native English girl. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a9RAcY5Kgck "Catupirah!"]] The lines are all perfectly grammatically correct -- it's the stilted pronunciation that makes it sound so odd. It's really weird when the one who voiced Chris is Creator/YukoGoto, who also voiced [[Manga/{{Sketchbook}} Ka]][[SurprisinglyGoodEnglish te]].

** The opening theme for a 70's action show named Monkey, originally in SurprisinglyGoodEnglish, was turned into this when Konata sang it in one of the 'karaoke' endings.

* ''Anime/{{Macross}}'' has plenty of poor English to go along with its SurprisinglyGoodEnglish:

** ''Every time'' the phrase "nice catch" is used in ''Naruto,'' it is spoken in English. It was more than a little [[SurprisinglyGoodEnglish mind-blowing]] when Temari did this for the first time.

Part of the reason she accuses him of having a middle schooler's sense of fashion is because he's wearing a shirt covered with "edgy auto-translated English" (most prominently the phrase "Bad Boy" and what seem to be translated dictionary definitions). When she goes to roll up his pant legs she discovers that there's more English gibberish printed on the cuffs, including one side reading "Dragon Style"; neither of them even knows what this is supposed to mean.

* ''Manga/KaguyaSamaLoveIsWar'' discusses this in a chapter where Kei critiques her brother Miyuki's taste in clothing.
