Prologues

  • The Trio of Trouble animated short is very silly, where Fang, Dr. Eggman, and Trip prove to be a volatile slapstick combination.
    • In the opening portion, Fang tries tangoing with Team Sonic, only to be defeated by Tails yanking out its battery and sending him down with its drill after reversing its polarity. By the time Fang stops the bike from spinning, he's got swirls in his eyes.
    • It turns out that the confrontation between Fang and Team Sonic was a dream (which he ended up losing and almost gets crushed by Amy's hammer near the end). When Fang wakes up suddenly from his nightmare, he ends up bumping into Eggman, which in turn, knocks Trip over. Eggman gets up and berates the jerboa, indicating that he implemented some sort of distance rule while exploring the ruins.
    • Trip goes on ahead, finding a few flowers that managed to bloom underground, reaching out to it. In a bit of Mood Whiplash, Eggman immediately tramples over the flowers, disappointing Trip immensely.
    • Eggman then obliviously walks forward confidently, where he accidentally triggers a trap underneath his foot. Cue several classic obstacles spewing out at Trip and Fang, including arrows from the walls, a spike trap (that catches and holds Trip up by the sides of her helmet) and finally a flamethrower that forces Fang to boost ahead. He ends up crashing into Eggman and through the wall, which ends up exactly where they needed to be.
    • After Eggman berates his two minions again, Fang just props up his bike and punches its plate back into place, not noticing that his battery went missing. Trip tries calling him, but ends up hitting her head with the battery in her hand.
    • While Eggman starts his sketch of the mural, Fang and Trip find that they aren't alone, being attacked by a giant red snake. Fang avoids the serpent's attacks while Trip gets hit and then holds onto its back for dear life. Eggman however is too pre-occupied with his art to realize what's going on behind him.
    • Once Fang realizes that his battery is gone, Trip tosses it to him, though ends up falling over again.
    • Fang manages to tie up the snake with the Marvelous Queen and its ropes, causing the ceiling to cave in on it. Once he stops the bike from spinning, he smugly struts over to the downed serpent while brushing off Trip, despite her being the one who helped him. Eggman turns around to show off his (crude looking) sketch from the mural, only to be annoyed at the sight of Fang triumphantly standing atop the snake as if it were his latest capture.
  • Then there's the prologue comic, Fang's Big Break, where there's quite a bit of funny dialogue and moments provided since Fang and Eggman can talk to each other in this medium.
    • Eggman and Fang first arrive at the Northstar Islands, the doctor explaining that the latter was hired for the express purpose of hunting down whatever is there to help him conquer the world. He then tries announces Fang as the man for the job... by calling him by his old Western name, which Fang is annoyed that he kept using that name after he dropped it. Eggman takes a few more guesses before he lands on his current one, lampshading the inconsistencies of his numerous name changes.
Eggman: I need someone to hunt down any beasts, treasures, or people that will help me conquer the world.
Eggman: (while pulling out confetti and fans) And that someone... is Nack the Weasel!
Fang: (annoyed) You keep doing that! I dropped that fake name ages ago!
      Eggman: Jet the Jerboa?
      Fang: No.
      Eggman: Fang the Sniper?
      Fang: Gettin' warmer.
      Eggman: Fang the...Hunter?
Fang: There ya go, big boy.
Eggman: (grumbling) Well that's needlessly confusing.
  • When Fang touches down on the island, he thinks this will be the easiest job ever, until he hears rustling of life on the island. When he asks the doctor if he knows if the island is inhabited, Eggman snarks about how he should hire an expert hunter to find out, immediately followed by him pointing out that is exactly what he hired Fang to do. Fang grumbles at the doc under his breath, noting how he'll be billing him extra for that remark.
  • When Fang starts finding nothing but harmless animals on the island, he notes this job is beneath him, recalling the time he went up against Sonic himself. He also remembers that he lost each time, due to "technical issues."
    • When Fang recalls his encounters with Knuckles to steal the Master Emerald, he also remembers how the echidna sent him packing each and every time.
  • Fang then grasps onto something nearby, only to realize it's a giant Flicky... who is enjoying some grapes. Fang then shoots at it with his popgun, with the cork hitting the Flicky and causing it to drop its grapes. It immediately retaliates against the jerboa with a mighty screech.

The Game

  • During boss battle against Eggman when he's visible, there's a little funny detail of him throwing childish tantrums whenever you land a hit on him (or his prototype robot).
  • Trip and Fang's interactions are classic slapstick, with Trip's clumsiness getting her or Fang in their own traps. Their antics are something straight out of a Looney Tunes short.
  • Remember how useless the cork was in Sonic the Fighters? Well, how about it not only serving as a One-Hit Kill for Fang's arsenal of attacks, but also getting hit by it launches Trip directly towards the screen, and cracking it? While it can be infuriating, the outcome is absolutely hilarious.
  • Back from Sonic Mania if you drop a monitor on top of a character it will harmlessly bounce on their head until you move from under it.

Speed Strats

  • Sonic Superstars also has a series of speed strats videos, starting with one released on October 25th — and those have some funny moments too.
    • The single player episode, while mostly informative, has a few funny moments in it, namely at the start and end of the episode, referencing Knuckles completely botching an attempt at getting a Chaos Emerald for the entire team.
      • At the start of the episode, the gang are going through a Special Stage...
Evan: Alright, you got this, Knuckles!
(Knuckles proceeds to fall to the deathzone of the Special Stage, ending the run and failing to get the Chaos Emerald)
Evan: Knuckles! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!
      • And then at the end of the episode, Evan isn't allowing Knuckles to live it down.
Evan: So, to put it all simply, what we're trying to say is, the real Sonic Superstars are the friends we made along the way...
(Cut to Sonic, Tails and Amy turning towards Knuckles)
Evan: Or maybe it's the ones that lost us the Chaos Emerald— KNUCKLES!
    • The Emerald Powers episode also has one funny joke, at the start of the episode:
Evan: Each Chaos Emerald that you collect will grant the heroes a special Emerald Power that can be used to traverse the Northstar Islands, defeat enemies or even help you friends. But they can't make you friends, that's on you!
(Sonic proceeds to give a look to the screen as he activates the Avatar Emerald power to spawn clones of himself)
Evan, exasperated: No, no! Being friends with yourself doesn't count!
