Funny / Power Rangers: Element Fury

• Several of the establishing character moments for the Rangers in the first chapter.
  • Flash having troubles with his truck and frustrated with himself for buying a part for it from the Flim and Flam brothers.
  • Sci-Twi struggling to carry three bags of REALLY heavy books.
  • Tempest Shadow having a phone-call with Sci-Twi even as she is staring down the thugs that stole Coco's charm bracelet.
• The pure Dramatic Irony of Tempest telling Sci-Twi that the answers she's looking for might come right through the door, right before Flash and Soarin enter.
• After Flash tells Sci-Twi and her friends about the magic and CHS he comments how he hopes Sunset won't be mad at him for it.
  Tempest: She wouldn't happen to have green eyes and red and gold hair, would she?
  Flash: Yeah.
  Thorax: Wears a leather jacket with a red stripe on each arm?
  Flash: How would you...? She's Right Behind Me, isn't she? (all four of the others nod and Flash turns around with a nervous smile) H-hey Sunset.
  • Adding to this, after Soarin comments that Flash told them how awesome Sunset was at the Battle of the Bands, Sunset simply says Flash is off the hook for that one.
• The sheer difference in Sci-Twi's personality here compared to her Shrinking Violet canon self can be quite amusing. It also comes as a shock to Flash and Sunset, who see a major difference between her and Princess Twilight, such as how Sci-Twi got expelled from Crystal Prep for a revenge prank gone wrong, and how she casually hacks into a satellite and says it is only illegal if she gets caught.
• While walking through the Everfree Forest, Soarin comments that it is so quiet it feels like something out of The Twilight Zone, only to quickly tell Sci-Twi no offense. She says none taken, and says at least he didn't make a reference to the god awful vampire books. The scene quickly changes into a huge Take That! aimed at the book series, with everyone saying how much it butchered vampire mythology and laughing at it.
• Soarin's Bait-and-Switch Comment:
  Sci-Twi: Looks can be deceiving. I've read enough Daring Do books to know that the things that you think aren't booby-trapped, are usually booby-trapped.
  Soarin: (chuckles and turns to Tempest) She said traps.
  (Tempest bonks Soarin on the head)
• Flash seems to notice how the giant Raven monster happens to be named "Nevermore", bringing to mind a certain famous poem, and even outright calls him "a monster named after one of the works of Edgar Allan Poe."
• When everyone learns that the Clover The Clever they are speaking to is the one from Equestria and not a human counterpart of her, Sunset goes into full Fangirl mode over her, letting out a huge squeal that would have shattered the glass in Clover's lab if she hadn't of enchanted it to be indestructible, and causes everyone else to cover their ears. Yeah, turns out Sunset's just as big a fan of Clover the Clever as Twilight is for Starswirl the Bearded.
• When Soarin cracks a joke after Clover explain the Morphing Grid to everyone, saying the Power Rangers get their power from the Force, Clover gives him a bonk on the head with her staff. Not even someone like Clover has the patience for Soarin and his jokes.
• After Flash is the first of the Rangers to accept responsibility of being a Ranger, Soarin says he isn't surprised since Flash is "the kind of guy who would gladly help an old lady cross the street".
  Flash: One, that only happened once when I was thirteen. Two, that 'old lady' was my grandma, and she's only fifty-nine.
• Most of the Zords get along great with their respected Rangers right from the start. The only exception is Soarin's Eagle Zord Aquila. She even expresses annoyance at getting stuck with the "comic relief Ranger".
• When the Rangers are giving their Zords names during their first battle with them, Flash's lion Zord speaks up saying he would prefer to be named "Leonidas" instead of just "Leo". Flash dismisses the suggestion since "Leo" is easier to say.
• When the Rangers form the Megazord for the first time, Clover channels her inner Bruce Banner.
  Clover: YOU GUYS ARE SO SCREWED NOW!
• After spending his entire one-on-one fight with Nevermore struggling and only managing to get a lucky hit in previously, Flash manages to escape from the fight by kicking him in the crotch. Nevermore's pained expression shows that it worked.
