  • During the Season 6 premiere, just before the auditions were officiated, the judges asked a few contestants about their purpose in Masterchef and how it would bring them closer to their food dreams. One of the auditionees, Nick, mentions how he loves to make sweets and desserts. Matt jokingly says that "We hate cake, so you got no chance," to the amusement of the others. Gary then counters that one of the goals of Masterchef is to fatten up George, so it's all good.
  • The Season 7 Master Class has Gary teaching the contestants how to make cheese soufflé. The contestants prank him by treating his work as though he is participating in a challenge, with Matthew announcing the "Your time starts now!" cue, and, as Gary is doing his finishing touches, everyone does the 10 second countdown, and orders him to step away from the bench once the time "runs out".
    Gary: Are you serious?
    • He then picks Jessica and Reynold to try the souffle. The other contestants, who also want to try the dish, attempt to steal a bite as they were leaving Gary's station to go to Marco's. Gary has to kick them away.
  • The last MasterClass of season 8, which took place before the quarter finals, had the judges switch places with the contestants and partake in a mystery box/invention test challenge. George, especially, did very well in playing the part of a flustered contestant, where he struggled with the utensils, tried to get a contestant to help him open up the cans and bottles, and gave a Big "NO!" when Matt Preston handed him a yellow card for "stepping out of bounds".
  • In the Season 8 quarter finals, Elena plated such a good dish that the judges couldn't stop eating it. When Gary was explaining to her why the dish was so good, the other two judges polished off the plate, to Gary's annoyance.
  • All of Gordon Ramsay's antics to throw off the guest chefs during the Immunity Challenge on Gordon Week in Season 10. At one point during the challenge, one of the guest chefs has a pack of preserved oranges on their bench. Problem is, they can only use vegetables and can't use any fruits in any way possible. Gordon takes notice of this. What does he do? He throws the damn pack to the doorway! He reminds her that she can't use any of the fruits at all.
  • This exchange during Season 11's picnic basket team challenge, despite being able to be interpreted as mean-spirited, is both sassy and funny.
    Tati: Where's the bread?
Simon: The bread is there, in the "open your eyes!" section!
  • Season 12
    • Episode 3 features a Round Robin Relay Challenge, where each member of the team need to simultaneously work on an entree, main and dessert for 60 minutes, but they must switch stations every 20 minutes. The judges demonstrate how it's done, and performs a hilarious impromptu skit on how a lack of communication between the members might result in a disaster.
Andy: (starting off with dessert, and moving on to the entree) Have fun with my iced VoVo, do your best.
Melissa: (arriving to Andy's station after the final switch) What have you done with this iced VoVo???
Jock: (at the Entree's station) What monkey did this???
    • The second Elimination Challenge (Episode 10), which had Ben Ungermann present what he called 'Ice Cream for Breakfast', which tasted good... except due to the rather... um, unfortunate plating of the ice cream and the tuile, the judges looked down, paused, and finally, the opening comment was thus:
      (Entire room bursts into laughter)
    • Shortly after everyone manages to stop laughing, Jock follows up with another zinger that sets off another wave of laughter, and results in Melissa and Jock wiping tears of mirth from their eyes.
Jock: Is that why you're called Big Ben?
(Renewed laughter; Melissa's doubled over against the counter laughing)
