- Fitzcarraldo arrives at the site of his failed Trans-Andean railway to strip it for parts - only to discover that the man he hired to sell tickets years earlier is still there, has kept the locomotive and the 200 metres of rail in shape, and is now overjoyed that the project is on again. Ouch.
