Main Story

    Chapter 5
  • Saito, upon Louise stating an interest in learning about guns, reveals that he has a few Gun Magazines in his room, and the two begin looking for them. Unfortunately for him, Louise finds a very different kind of magazine under the bed. Saito, realizing his life may be in danger, at first tries to claim he's holding onto it for a friend, and then that he "only reads it for the articles," neither of which she buys. Cue a Description Cut to his parents enjoying some time to themselves in the living room, where they hear the aftermath and are completely unsurprised.
    Louise: YOU PERVERT!!!
Satoshi: [calmly] She found the Playboys.
Sakura: [nods in agreement before smiling and shaking her head]] I told him he should have thrown those things out.

    Chapter 14
  • Louise relates a story about a student from a previous year, Caroline de Matthieu. Said student summoned an adorable bear-like creature. The student adored it, but no matter what she did, she couldn't get it to eat, until, tragically, it died. The girl was heartbroken, and many students, including Louise, thought it was her own fault her familiar died. After running into a certain display at the zoo, however...
Louise: Now I know the truth. It wasn't Caroline's fault her familiar died, because her familiar was a koala.
    Saito: Yeah, koalas are stupid.
  • BERTHA and VECTOR walk into the reptile exhibit at the Zoo and come upon Gorge's remains. The two mercenaries are absolutely sick to their stomachs at the sight and smell (in spite of BERTHA being a trained medical professional and VECTOR being a trainee of HUNK himself and them both wearing gas masks), so much so to the point where their reactions of horror and disgust make LUPO think they're in trouble.
LUPO: Hold on! I'm coming in!
BERTHA: No, don't! You-ugh, this is disgusting- you do not want to be in here!
VECTOR: The smell is going through my mask! Uggh!
    • The rest of Wolfpack wisely heed their comrade's advice and keep their distance from the giant anaconda corpse.
  • While searching for Saito and Louise and where they may have gone, Wolfpack manages to track them to the Sewer Entrance...
VECTOR: No way. There's no way in hell those kids are desperate and stupid enough to go down there.
    [beat]
VECTOR: Sigh. They are that stupid and desperate, aren't they? God dammit...

    Chapter 18
  • When the Rescue Party captures a Zombie to determine its weak points, Derflinger is used by Julio for the impromptu dissection. The legendary sapient sword is less than pleased about his new role and makes no secret of it with his wailing and moaning about the situation.
    Derflinger: Uggh! This feels wrong.
  • The Rescue Team finding the tape of Saito's camera and watching it to learn about Louise's time with the Hiragas has a few amusing highlights.
    • Kirche humming in appreciation of Saito's good looks, much to Tabitha's annoyance.
    • Louise discovering the wonders of Chocolate Ice Cream as well as the agonies of Brain Freeze, complete with a dramatic introduction by Saito. The poor thing can't even get a proper insult off at him without making her headache worse, much to his amusement.
    • Saito doing a recording of Louise's reaction to the iconic "Luke, I Am Your Father" scene from The Empire Strikes Back, and laughing at her shock at seeing the reveal for the first time, and her anger at him for the action.
Louise: No, no way! Darth Vader is Anakin Skywalker?! There is no way! He has to be lying! Saito, tell me he's lying! [notices him laughing at her] Why are you-!? [notices the Camera] You were recording this! You knew this was coming! You stupid dog! [lunges at a still laughing Saito as the recording ends]
      • During this segment, Kirche wonders if they are watching a play and comments she'd like to see it.

    Chapter 19
  • The rescue party finds a training video with a gang member delivering a very condescending tutorial on handling different types of munitions. One of his frustrations came from a recruit who got into a shootout but couldn’t fire a shot. Why? Because he loaded the bullets in backwards.
    • After hearing that, Tabitha wonders how anyone could screw that up, noting even a complete novice should be able to realize which way the bullets should go in, just before she notices Kirche awkwardly trying to reload her bullets, as she had done just that.

    Chapter 21
  • When Louise says that the Licker that attacked them wasn't a Hunter, Saito says "Yeah, no shit". He's also nonplussed for a second when Louise names it.
