- Most of the movie, but the end with the two conmen being Out-Gambitted by the woman they were trying to con! Then she comes back unabashed and offers them to join forces with her! And Freddie tries to run away, and the other two drag him back to go to work on the new con.
- The two of them trying to constantly adjust to what the other does.
- Freddie ranting about how Janet is dishonest after she steals their money when that's exactly what he was trying to do and Lawrence's response: "Isn't she wonderful?"
- Freddie's scene in the jail cell where he's attempting to remember Lawrence's name is some of Steve Martin at his very best and simply must be seen to be believed.
- Any of the scenes where Freddy is pretending to be Lawrence's mentally-disturbed brother, Ruprecht.
