Funny / Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget

Go To

  • When Molly partially hatches from her egg, she’s launched into the air and falls onto what looks like a pile of rocks contained in a wheelbarrow. However, a chicken moves the wheelbarrow away, revealing that Molly landed safely on a pile of soft hay.
  • Babs making a knitted bicycle for Molly.
    Ginger: What a lovely... thought.
  • During the montage of Molly growing up:
    • Presumably after the incident with the loading wheel, Bunty and Mac decide to build a playpen for Molly. After it's built, Molly makes a show of acting like she'll behave in there, only to immediately whip out a spoon once the adult chickens turn away.
    • Following this, we see Rocky and Molly take delivery of some stuff that Nick and Fetcher brought to the island on their boat. As the rats are leaving, Rocky notices that Molly isn't next to him anymore, and then sees that she snuck onto the boat, prompting an Oh, Crap! reaction. Cut to Rocky tiredly carrying Molly over his shoulder while completely drenched in water. This also leads to a playful splash fight between him and Ginger, which escalates to him chasing her with a bucket of water...and then to Rocky being confused by Molly visibly growing up/taller between the brief moment she went into their house and came out again, measuring her height with his wing which is both hilarious and adorable.
  • When the main group of chickens paddle to the mainland on logs, Bunty and Babs are occupying one. Because of her immense size, Bunty's end of the log is low in the water while Babs' is up in the air!
  • When trying to catch up with Fowler, who's hanging onto the back of the Fun-Land Farms van that has Molly inside, Ginger, Rocky and many other chickens catch up with him with the aid of a cart and fire extinguisher and Rocky grabs Fowler's tailfeathers, causing him a lot of pain.
Fowler: Ohh!!! There go the goujons.
  • After Molly gets taken to the chicken farm, Rocky and Ginger see a billboard that portrays the farm as a colorful place full of happy chickens. Cue this:
Rocky: Well, hey, that doesn't look so bad!
They round a corner and see what the farm actually looks like — a dark, dystopian Evil Lair.
Rocky: Oh, that looks so bad...
  • Rocky is still struggling to understand Mac; at the very least, he seems to be able to make out the intentions behind her words now, but still.
Mac: Aye, and 12 herrings and a bagpipe are just a pile of mince if you havnae kent the rules!
Rocky: ...You know, that sounded a little negative to me.
  • Rocky's hilariously failed attempt at infiltrating the Fun-Land Farms. It starts with him trying to get over the fence by bouncing off of a tree, only to fall onto the fence and get electrocuted. He then comes face to face with the robotic moles and the robotic ducks, both of which are programmed to shoot at anything that comes into their vision, which also goes as well as you'd expect. He finally ends up landing on a metallic fence in the middle and giving Ginger and her crew a feeble thumbs up, before falling over and getting sucked into a garbage chute.
    Babs: That went well!
    Ginger facepalms
  • The sheer bizarreness of Nick and Fetcher's summary of some of the farm's defense mechanisms. The viewer has probably never heard the words "camera-driven gun-toting moles" and "laser-guided exploding ducks" before.
  • This exchange before the chickens prepare to enter the Fun-Land Farms factory:
    Ginger: It's go time.
Babs: It's alright. I went before we left.
  • The team dive into the moat by falling backwards... except Babs, who forgets to turn around and falls on the lawn, then has to be dragged into the water by her feet.
  • Ginger and the chickens trick a security guard and manage to take a picture of his eye, then they use said picture to get through an eye-scanning door. On the other side of the door, a different security guard then magnifies the picture several times, then goes through a book featuring pictures of eyes of all the staff members; she goes through several pages before finding a match for the scanned picture and opening the door. One of the eyes is visibly more bloodshot than the others, and the employee it belongs to is listed under "Night Shift."
  • Fowler is given the job as the team's getaway which means he's absent throughout most of the adventure due to being on the roof waiting for them to save Molly, though he does spend that time waiting by telling a snail about his time during the war despite the snail having no interest hearing his tale.
  • After the rats safely dive down the garbage chute on an umbrella, Nick says "right on the button." Literal-Minded Fetcher thinks this means to push the button that closes the umbrella, trapping them both.
  • As the chickens monitor the surveillance cameras, they see Rocky and the rats in the garbage chute, hanging on for dear life. This is Babs' reaction:
Babs: Look, Rocky and the rats are on the telly. It looks like a real cliffhanger.
  • The demonstration video Dr. Fry shows Reginald, stating that scared chickens make for bad meat when they are ground up.
Boy in Video: Mummy, this meat is tough, dry, and flavorless. I hate you, Mummy!
  • Dr. Fry refers to Reginald Smith as Sir Eat-A-Lot. Despite Smith reminding him that Sir Eat-A-Lot is not his name, but the name of the restaurants he owns, Dr. Fry refers to him that way a second time when introducing Mrs. Tweedy to him, much to Smith's frustration.
  • After eating a freshly cooked chicken nugget, Reginald Smith loves it so much that he says, "I love you, mummy." It appears that the mind-control collars affect the eater through the meat.
  • During the aftermath of the silo scene, Fowler is telling war stories to the snail when the popcorn begins falling on top of him. Fowler is only mildly bemused, attributing it to the unpredictability of British weather. Just as he comments that one never knows what to expect, Bunty lands on top of him.
  • At one point, Rocky comes face to face with Mrs. Tweedy, Dr. Fry and two of the guards while Ginger and Molly are right behind them. He then seemingly prepares himself for a fight... only to break out into a dance to "Last Night" by The Mar-Keys. It has to be seen to be believed.
Dr. Fry: He's got some moves!
    • The scene gets referred to later after the chickens return to rescue everyone at the farm, as Dr. Fry refers to Rocky as "the funky chicken".
  • Ginger while under the influence of the collar. She acts like a young girl, singing "I'm H-A-P-P-Y" and talking back to Molly. At one point, she asks Molly, "Are we going on holiday?"
  • The chickens (and rats) form a ladder to try and climb out of a silo. Ginger calls up to the rats to look for a crack or something to grab hold of. Cut to Nick, standing on Fetcher's shoulders with a traumatized expression.
  • Reginald presenting Mrs. Tweedy with a small black ring box, suggesting he's proposing to her. It's actually just the new dip his restaurant chain cooked up for the nuggets. Mrs. Tweedy is less than amused when she sees what's inside.
    Melisha: Ketchup?
Reginald: Oh, no, no. Something completely new. I call it “the dip.”
  • The Brainwashed and Crazy chickens of Fun-Land Farms happily sing along to "Summer Holiday" by Cliff Richard as they unknowingly march to their doom to be turned into nuggets. Even Babs and Fetcher join in on the singing before Bunty and Nick snap them out of it.
  • After Fun-Land Farms explodes:
    Fetcher: Oh, blast!
    Nick: What?
