Fridge / Superbook (2011)

  • On some occasions, Superbook has activated and transported the kids while they're in locations where said activation and teleportation could easily be seen by others, including right out in the middle of open spaces such as neighborhood sidewalks. How is it that nobody sees these incidents—not the people in passing cars, not anybody in nearby buildings, not random pedestrians who might be some distance away—nobody? (On the other hand, it could be argued that divine intervention keeps these events conveniently shielded from the eyes of anyone else, unless other persons are somehow important to a given episode's plot.)
  • In the two-parter "Paul and the Unknown God," how does robotic guest character QBIT manage to escape becoming a sacrifice when he, in the form of a bull, has been taken away as said sacrifice? Gizmo actually asks the question, but it never gets answered. note
  • How exactly does a scientist who's a religious skeptic create a device that time-travels specifically based on the Christian Bible? I mean, I guess you could say "God Did It" but still.
    • That's assuming Crispin was the one to design Superbook's physical form, but at no point in the series is it ever suggested that he even knows about it, much less that he had a hand in it. A better question would be how he knew to design some of Gizmo's specific gadgets which function well enough for time-travel (see the WMG page for that).
    • Gizmo's time-travel-related gadgets in addition to Superbook could very well be "God Did It".
  • Gizmo is very much a sentient robot, but he's also completely confined to the Quantum family and has to do their bidding around the household. What's going here, and with the other robots in this world? Is he literally the chattel property of the Quantum family? Is he bound in Indentured Servitude to pay off the cost of his construction?
  • So, how exactly did Superbook come to be? Professor Quantum probably didn't design it — although it is likely he knows about it, but is being a Secret Secret-Keeper. Was it created out of thin air by God?
    • Or perhaps it was originally a generic time machine, hence why Gizmo (definitively designed by Professor Quantum) is equipped for time travel, but its travelling based strictly on the events of the Christian Bible is Divine Intervention.
  • Where does the narrating voice that Superbook puts on as the travellers travel ("I am taking you to...") come from? Is it God/Jesus Himself speaking?!
