Fridge Brilliance

  • Shinguji Sakura, Erica Fontaine, Gemini Sunrise, Amamiya Sakura. Take the first letter in each name (with Japanese names in order of family name - given name), and what does that spell? SEGA!
  • It seems really weird that the Shanghai Combat Revue would operate out of a restaurant considering almost every other Combat Revue does so out of some kind of theater. However, many high class restaurants demand not just taste but presentation as well. Something like a Hibachi grill is a perfect example as its chefs have to perform while cooking. And some restaurants with very talented and skilled chefs will also have an open window kitchen to see them in action much like how Xiaolong does.
  • The Berlin Combat Revue is said to be the strongest of all of the existing Combat Revues. Considering that they have been in the works since the New York NY OVA, they may have also been oldest of the modern Combat Revues. What helps is that like Sumire, Ratchet Altair had trouble maintaining her own spiritual power. Chances are, she also didn't participate in the Great Demon War. Thus once the New York Combat Revue were sealed away, she focused all of her efforts into establishing Berlin. Thus they not only does Berlin have what may be the most experience, but they had help by a veteran at the time.
  • The game's Big Bad, while disguised as President G, changed the rules of the Combat Revue World Games for the purpose of founding a globally-united World Combat Revue. In the end, his undoing would be, in part, from the revues of Shanghai, London, and Berlin joining forces with the Imperial Combat Revue to thwart his scheme. In a roundabout way, he did create a World Combat Revue...just not in the way he had hoped!
  • Speaking of which, the characters comment on the fact that the hologram technology that was being used to spawn the mock demons make them seem realistic. But when you find out who President G actually is, you realize it wasn't holograms, he was spawning real demons into the world.
  • When looking at the demonic realms you go into, Oboro's realm is demonic and chaotic true to his Ax-Crazy personality of causing mayhem and destruction. Meanwhile Yaksha's realm is more of a factory with a bunch of gears rotating fitting her personality of the Spanner in the Works. And while we don't see Sotetsu Genan's realm, when we fight him, the stage is a warped version of the Combat Revue World Games arena, a man who touts peace but desires conflict instead.
  • Sakura never actually uses her Mugen, yet it's available to use in the combat simulator. Considering Reiji created both the simulator and the remaining Mugens, he gave Sakura the option to pilot it to get her up to speed once it was ready.

Fridge Horror

  • On the one hand, Sumire Kanzaki's return to the series as the new Imperial Combat Revue's commander is cause for excitement. On the other hand, according to pre-release information, the original revue was obliterated, meaning Sumire is the Sole Survivor of the original Revue. The only reason she was spared was because she had retired from active duty...
  • Yaksha's attacks against the Flower Division should have just disabled the Mugens instead of killing them considering what happens to the Combat Armors before outside of a direct attack. That being said, Anastasia was on fumes, a hard strike like that took what little she had left. As for the others, considering the God-Breaker was empowered, Yaksha's attacks against Claris and Azami and her clash against Hatsuho may have targeted their life force directly. It's basically an upgraded version of her normal ability to disable the Spirit Crystals and turning their spiritual powers against them.
