Fridge Brilliance

  • The credentials that Avery gives you to speak with the governor of Puerto Mico are of an unsightly individual of the opposite gender from you. Of course, the Monquistans would take any opportunity to insult you. Avery knew they would be too snooty to admit they can tell the difference.
  • Kane thinks that to make the perfect body for himself, he must go to El Dorado. That's where his brain comes from, so he'd be sort of hard-wired to think that El Doradan technology is perfect.
  • Throughout the game, your mother has physically appeared in pictures and puppet shows, but not your father. This is because your father is required to stay unseen, as you might not resemble your mother due to your customized appearance, and as a result, probably got your looks from your father.
  • Phule tells the player before helping him/her infiltrate The Machine that Kane considers him an imperfection. This isn't just because he has a split personality that makes him an unpredictable wild card, but considering the fact that Phule is likely one of Kane's older creations, Kane may have been going for a card motif with his inner court instead of the chess motif the majority of his court goes with. It's likely that Kane initially was planning to go with a motif involving a deck of cards, but then abandoned it because cards have four suits, meaning he might be required to create clones of himself, which could either produce potential conflict with his clones, or they wouldn't really be him, due to not having his mind. Even if he narrowed it down to one suit, cards are often games of CHANCE, hence Phule's chaotic nature, and it would be inefficient for him to rely on chance. The chess motif, however is more efficient, as chess is less chance-oriented and strategy-oriented, which is far better for a machine.
    • It would also partly explain why he considers Queen his "perfect creation" as she (as well as him) fit both motifs out of their court.

  • Why would be there an king in Valenica? you get the idea and would realize that any form of election would lead to people constantly challenging kane and his plans of world domination.

Fridge Horror

  • A sidequest in Aquila involves helping Icarus (as in the son of Daedalus) construct mechanical wings. At the end of the quest, Icarus mentions that the first place he will go will be the sun, as he believes it is a huge, blazing shield of brass. If you've read the original myth, you'll know that this will not end well. note
  • In Book 15, it's revealed that clockworks view their creators as their parents.note  Later on, Kane addresses Queen as his "Greatest Creation", to which Queen responds "You flatter me, darling." In a rather flirtatious tone, no less. This has some...interesting implications.
    • Not helped by the fact that Kane says Queen is his Greatest Creation, implying Parental Favoritism. At least we know why?
