Fridge Horror

• The story makes painfully clear, at least after Liska bought Rial from slavery that Rial abused Liska at first, at least in the first months when he brought her at the tribe as his slave, through the whole narrative of the comic runs on Deliberate Values Dissonance regarding her era, her descendant Leah's and also from the readers.
• The same goes double for both Shaygin and Elishaa before Liska bought them and freed them from slavery, as Shaygin explained that their former master abused them as well, and that would explain many things about her personality.
• Leah is basically telling to her own kids, who are still elementary-grade children, the life and times of a person who lived in a very violent era, including both the very nasty parts of Liska's life and also her very intimate ones, and it's very obvious that Leah is not trying to sugar-coating the actions of her ancestor for the sake of the well-being of her own children.^note For a good example of this, that would be the equivalent of telling the oral tradition equivalent of Conan the Barbarian in the best case, or Berserk, at worst. It's outright stated in the comic, however, that Leah is using Narrative Profanity Filter in-universe in order to tell the whole story to her children, at least when they're still younger, and what the readers see out-universe is what either she was thinking in her head, or when she is speaking to other adults, like her mate Thorin or in latter issues, her own children when they're now adults. This is especially relevant at the very end of the comic, since the final battle between Liska and Rakon is definitively NOT for the faint of the heart, let alone children.
• Another, even bigger one, happens on regards with Pyndan and his family curse: Since he had sex with Liska and had children with him, it's later explained by Leahtrah to a pacient which also had the same problem, who turns out to be Rh-incompatibility. That pacient turned out to be a descendant of both Liska and Pyndan, just like Leah is a descendant of Liska and Rial. That means that, during some point in history , very likely after Liska died, the entire Highland tribe went into Parental Incest at some point, causing a monumental genetic bottleneck on the entire population of the same area. Also, it's later explained that Leah has the same problem as well, through not as severe as Pyndan.
