The Pong game has one distinct difference from the genuine article - the game starts when either player touches the control, instead of going off automatically due to an invisible timer. That's actually the rule in sumo wrestling - more evidence that this version of Pong was developed in Equestria's version of Japan, which makes a funny kind of sense.
Also, additionally, compared to original Pong consoles or home units, which used a dial control for paddle control, the unit has a control appropriate for a hoof (a large slider button that can go up or down).
Also worth noting, Button's Mom was apparently expecting Button to play a two-player game on his own - but look at the game's response when Button touches the left-side paddle. The right-side gets automatically designated as the AI opponent.
Word of God said that Button's mother is between 30 and 40 with his brother being 17. Try not to think too hard about that...
Some of the latter lyrics of "Game Over" can easily be read as Button Mash having died in the process of running away.
"Oh please mom I tried, but I guess this is game over. I guess this where it ends. Doesn't mean I'm gone. I'm still there by your side. So if this is our game over, I can't wait to see you soon."
