The idea that Miri's mother Misaki sent her into the world without any supervision is terrible enough, but she sent Miri to her father who not only abandoned Misaki after she got pregnant, but is also a criminal. To make matters worse, Miri's father is quite willing to hold Miri at gunpoint, apparently having no idea she's his daughter.
Even if Miri's father did find out the truth of her identity, it's doubtful that he would have kept her anyway since then his wife would learn of the affair and he'd still have to pay child support. Best case, he would have dumped her in foster care without a second thought. Worst case...
