  • One reviewer pointed that Xanxus falling head over heels for Dorea when he meets her is perfectly in-character for the kind of person he is: he was born and raised Italian, the country of romanticism and passionate love, and is very in tune with his Intuition which immediately pegs Dorea as the perfect woman for him. Of course he accepts to marry her right now without even knowing her name or where she come from! Such a reckless attitude is typical for a passionate, listen-to-your-guts teenager!
  • Dorea and Xanxus's marriage spoofs a classic fairy tale staple, the princess and the dragon, as Dorea (a Proper Lady) is clearly more interested in marrying Xanxus (who is Hot-Blooded and feral) than escaping him. However, they also parody another cliché, which is the daring rescue: here, Xanxus is a Badass in Distress, and his Plucky Girl Love Interest uses guile and subterfuge to save him instead of Storming the Castle.
  • Draco Malfoy bears an accused resemblance to Alaude, first Cloud Guardian of the Vongola, not only in body - pale, fair-headed and blue-eyed - but also in mind - Draco as an Inverted Sun is aloof and antisocial, just as Alaude held himself apart from the Vongola group. There is a chance that the similarities are due to a blood relation: Alaude was born in Le Tellier family, a French aristocratic bloodline, and the Malfoy family is canonically from French descent, Armand Malfoy arriving in Great Britain with the Norman invasion, so they could be related by a Squib who married in the mundane world.
  • Terrence gains the nickname "Green Knight" when he becomes the apprentice to Talbot. It's obviously a reference to his hair-colour and his wardrobe - he has to dress in green or it would clash with the hair dye - and his utter devotion to Dorea. More subtly, he actually appears to the Vongola just as the figure in the Arthurian mythos appears to Gawain: he's helpful and friendly, but terrifying - as he's able to fight one of Timoteo's Guardians one-against-one and didn't hesitate to kill one interloper who disturbed his work - and most of all, mysterious, as no one amongst the Vongola manages to learn something valuable about his past or his Lady-liege.
  • Mariella mistaking Nono as Xanxus' father makes sense. After all, both are named Timoteo, both are leaders of very poweful families and both are gifted with a rare type of Flame - Nono's Sky Flames and the Principe's Wrath Flames. While Mariella's mind was destroyed, she remembered those identifying traits and saw them in Nono.
  • Visconti is flat-footed when Ganauche III names Sumu - the female Alessia Scarlatti - as the new Cloud Officer, saying it was a young man he registered in this place. He's talking about Lektor, the new Lightning Officer: since Lektor is actively avoiding guests and customers, he fits more the aloof Cloud stereotype than the more outgoing Lightning one.
    • Subverted, since Visconti's spy thought that the returning Xanxus was the new Cloud Officer, by way of murdering Ottabio and tormenting the Cloud Division with Training from Hell. The spy had no idea what Nono's adoptive son looked like thanks to Vongola incompetence and so didn't recognise the 'Cloud Officer'.
  • Xanxus, tiring of the manic and overly-paranoid Levi, is delighted when Dorea sends the sociopathic murderer and language student Ezra Sykes his way. Xanxus sends Ezra off to 'clean out his new office' and gleefully listens for the sound of the carnage that Ezra killing Levi would generate. To his disappointment, there is none. A curious Varia assassin sneaks into the office later, only to find Ezra has placed wards around the mini-fridge. Other Varia reveal that Housekeeping haven't found Levi's body, making them ponder if Ezra is a cannibal. In German, one asks that if Ezra dresses like a college lecturer and eats people, does that make him a 'Lektor' (German for lecturer)? Referring to the fictional cannibalistic villain Hannibal Lektor. Ezra is unanimously Named Lektor by the end of the day. Nobody has any proof that Ezra ate Levi, but 'they had no proof that he didn't eat Levi'.
  • Executioner liking Klatchian Coffee appears as Fridge Logic when it's revealed that coffee is actually a dangerous substance to magicals, until you remember a throwaway line about Millicent taking after her Belby mother. The Belby's Family Affinity is strength in the adversity, meaning she's naturally immune to something which ought to harm her.
  • The fact everyone likes Mainomai - he's a descendant of Aphrodite, a Love goddess. He's unconsciously seducing people to have their love.
  • Timoteo Vongola's hypocritical distaste for the Varia. He is a Vongola Sky, thus possesses intuition and a certain degree of foresight. Two Varia Officers are responsible for murdering two of his sons in cold blood, and got away with, adding insult to injury. Squalo disposed of Enrico because Enrico would not have freed Xanxus, and Squalo felt that Enrico would not be a good enough Decimo. Belphegor eliminated Massimo, due to the man pressing his Berserk Button by being a would be traitor and a careless snitch. Timoteo's intuition likely warned him of this, causing him to get an ingrained, strong dislike of the Varia.
    • Also Catrin, Aria's Storm Guardian, and murderer of Federico is a retired Varia Quality.
  • Several Flame bond experts in the Iron Fort expected Xanxus' guardians to go berserk and attack Nono after their Sky got frozen. Later those same experts chalk it up to the Harmony resonance between Xanxus and Dorea keeping them calm. Still Squalo and Belphegor did murder two of Nono's sons in fairly ugly ways. While they had perfectly valid reasons to do so, they might also have subconsciously wanted to cause pain to Nono in revenge.
