Renee and Val, a city lesbian couple, go out into the country on a trip to a cabin that's owned by a gay couple they're friends with. Once there, however, they find the cabin empty and no signs of their friends (it had been shown earlier that the men were attacked). While looking around the area, they soon find themselves hunted down and held captive by mysterious attackers with deadly intentions. Alone in their captor's grasp, Renee and Vel must fight to survive.

A Canadian slasher film, it stars Tommie-Amber Pirie (Renee), Sarah Allen (Val), Rossif Sutherland (Gavin), Aaron Ashmore (James) and Celina Sinden (Layna). It is not to be confused with the 2020 American horror film of the same name.

Tropes:

  • Action Girl: Renee proves herself as one during the film, breaking free, rescuing her girlfriend Val and with her successfully turning things on their kidnappers/would-be-murderers. This includes being good with a gun (previously she mentions going hunting with her family). Val, though not as skilled, also managed to hold her own in concert with Renee. They manage to kill all their tormentors as a team.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Renee usually calls her girlfriend Valerie "Val".
  • Asshole Victim: Gavin, Layna, and James are a homophobic serial killing trio who kidnap and murder same-sex couples for sport and livestream it for similarly bigoted viewers. Thus, no tears are shed when they all get brutally done in by their latest would-be victims.
  • Battle Couple: Renee and Val, after breaking free, become this when they go after their tormentors. They successfully kill them as a couple, using whatever weapons they've gotten.
  • Boom, Headshot!: Gavin shoots a compatriot in the head at close range who's got cold feet about their plan to murder gays and lesbians.
  • Bound and Gagged: Renee wakes up in this position after being knocked out.
  • Bury Your Gays: Scotty and Connor, a gay couple, are both murdered on livestream. It's also later shown many others have been murdered before too. Indeed, this is the basis of the whole plot.
  • Damsel in Distress: Val is rescued by Renee when she's set to be murdered next.
  • Damsel out of Distress: Renee manages to free herself upon being tied up and rescue Val.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Gavin is a vicious murderer, but clearly still loves his wife Layna, who's his accomplice in the crimes he commits.
  • Exact Words: Gavin tells an accomplice who isn't down with murdering gays and lesbians, afraid of going to jail for it, that he won't. Then he shoots the guy in the head.
  • Foreshadowing:
    • The gas station Renee and Val stop at sells sinister-looking masks that their captors wear later.
    • Renee mentions while walking in the woods with Val how she'd cull deer with her family in the past. At the end, they "cull" their tormentors using Renee's skills.
  • Heteronormative Crusader: Gavin, James and Layna are all homophobic extremists who catch gays or lesbians to murder them on livestreaming video.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: Gavin murders Connor with an axe. James then does the same with Scotty. Later on James gets it in the head himself from Val.
  • Homophobic Hate Crime: The antagonists kidnap and murder gays or lesbians due to their violent homophobia.
  • Hunting the Most Dangerous Game: Renee and Val initially seek to escape on foot, as they're hunted down by masked attackers. Later they turn the tables, hunting down their tormentors instead, whom they kill.
  • Incompatible Orientation: James hits on Val at the gas station, and doesn't realize she's a lesbian at first. Or possibly he does, but was scouting her out with Renee ahead of their arrival at the cabin where the trap is set for them.
  • Like a Duck Takes to Water: After just the bare minimum instruction from Renee, Val's capable of hitting a target at long range on her very first try with a sniper rifle (it's made clear she's never even held a gun before).
  • Lipstick Lesbian: Val has long hair and a slightly more feminine style. Renee is a bit more tomboyish, though neither is that pronounced.
  • Malevolent Masked Man: Renee and Val's attackers are at first only seen as masked men in ferocious-looking masks who have guns, wearing camo fatigues.
  • Minimalist Cast: There are only about six characters with multiple scenes.
  • Monochrome Casting: The whole cast of the film is white.
  • murder.com: The homophobes run a site where they stream videos showing them murdering gays and lesbians brutally. Val and Renee later come across this as they escape, to their horror.
  • Only Known by Their Nickname: Val is only called her full name Valerie a couple times.
  • Politically Incorrect Villain: The antagonists are violent homophobes who kidnap and murder gays or lesbians, streaming it for homophobic viewers online.
  • Preserve Your Gays: Val and Renee, after killing all their tormentors, manage to escape.
  • Sadist: Gavin and James clearly enjoy harming their victims, from the happy expressions which they have while doing so or anticipating the acts.
  • Slashed Throat: Renee finishes off Gavin this way.
  • Straight Gay: Scotty and Connor, a gay couple, show no stereotypical traits, aside from very mild vocal fry on Scotty's part.
  • Sympathetic Murderer: Renee kills Layna and later Gavin when both are helpless. However, as they're depraved murderers who had tried to murder her and Val it's likely no one will care.
  • Tap on the Head: Renee is apparently knocked out with a rifle butt. She wakes up with no ill effects.
  • Unholy Matrimony: Gavin and Layna are a married couple who obviously love each other. Both are also vicious kidnappers and murderers.
  • You Wouldn't Shoot Me: Layna says this when Renee is holding her at gunpoint. Rather than shoot her, Renee crushes her skull with a computer.
